FS#1066 - Option to lock origin
It would be good to have the option to lock the origin if needed.
The position of the absolute origin (0,0) is fixed and never moves.
The position of the relative zero point (@0,0) can be locked using Snap > Lock Relative Zero
If that is not what you meant, please elaborate, thanks.
Sorry for not thinking properly, what I meant was to be able to lock the Red Cross from moving.
Yes, that would likely be the relative zero point: Snap > Lock Relative Zero to keep its position fixed.
I mean to keep the |Red cross (ucs) locked permanently if so desired!
Yes, that's what Snap > Lock Relative Zero should do. Does it not work as expected?
Sorry Andrew, I should have explained more properly, I want the Red cross to stay in its original position when zooming or panning around, maybe an option could be added in application preferences for this?
Do you intend to lock the relative zero point to a fixed screen coordinate? For example at the center of the drawing area, something like that?
Currently, the relative zero point stays at the same drawing coordinate when zooming and panning.
I think we are talking about two different things here, all I want is the option to fix the Red cross icon from moving, in other words when you pan or zoom around your drawing I want the Red cross icon to stay put at the bottom left hand corner!
I see. Would that not mean that the red cross no longer indicates the position of the absolute zero point?
Maybe you can briefly outline what you are trying to achieve or what the purpose of this feature is? Thanks.
Yes you are right, it's no big deal, thanks anyway.
