  1. before save: copy existing file (drawing.dxf) to temporary file, e.g. “drawing.bak”
  2. save()
    • no crash → remove recovery file
    • crash → file has size of 0 byte now
      1. restore recovery files on next start
for each file in recent files
  if file size == 0
    rename temporary file to actual file name
