FS#349 - Cannot open saved files

Hi Andrew

Using Beta 3 v3 saving files to DXf 2010, DWG 2010, or even 2007 only saves succesfully some times. Most of the time I get a warning dialog stating that “Cannot open file” - no suitable importer found?

Please help

Clive

Do your files have the proper file extension (.dxf, .dwg)?

Could you send some file s you cannot open to [email protected] or attach them to the report if they are not private?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew

Yes all files have correct extension, I`m not sure what`s happened but all seems ok now ,I`ll let you know if it happens anymore!

Thankyou very much for your speedy response - especially on a Saturday. Excellent service.

Best regards

Clive

P.S. I know you are all working very hard on the version 3 development - just out of curiosity when do you think the stable release of Version 3 would be - I`m not being pushy here I`m just curious that`s all! Do you think maybe another 6 months or so!

Depends on user feedback / bugs that are being discovered. The next release will probably be release candidate 1 (RC1) rather than a beta. So far, we haven't had any serious bug reports with QCAD 3 Beta 3 (except this one).

Workaround: do not use dots in file names (other than the dot between the file name and the file extension, e.g. "myfile.dxf" is OK, "my.file.dxf" is not).
