FS#973 - Drawing outside zoom limit

When a drawing is placed in X,Y coordinates QCAD is unable to zoom to the drawing.

We use X,Y coordinates like X=182,635,000 mm Y=579,005,000 mm for the location of the constructions.

If you use Auto Zoom you get to see a small dot on the screen but as soon as you try to zoom to the drawing QCAD jumps within a certain limit and you can’t get to the drawing.

This is a known limitation to prevent overflows and resulting from this artifacts on the screen.
This has to do with how values are stored in computers and with the underlying drawing system.
Creating small drawings at extreme locations should be avoided whenever possible since you also loose precision (the higher the magnitude of a value, the more it has to be rounded to store it).

Can you give me the range off these limitations?

Would it be possible to attach your file or send it by e-mail for testing?
It is possible to switch off these limits, but I'd have to test that to see if that works in your case (depends on the size and location of your drawing).

I send you a email with the drawing.

Maybe it can be solved by giving the limits a origin from the UCS instead of GCS (see request #694)?
