FS#980 - Isometric Projection / blocks / wrong layer are used in the result ...

Isometric Projection used on a selection which contains blocks will mix up the layer affiliations.
No blocks - no problems ;-)

25.10.2022 : A task closure has been requested. Reason for request: Seems to be fixed for recent versions. Regards, CVH.

I cannot reproduce this, can you attach a simple drawing demonstrating this?

Husky commented on 30.11.2013 20:26

Sure - here a Test-drawing: Left side the blocks - right side the isometric projection with switched layer affiliation.
Try it by yourself ;-)

Yes I see what you mean, the layers are not preserved! The only way I could project your drawing into an isometric plane and preserve the layers was to first explode the block.

Maybe in the 'Projection' options we need a 'preserve' layers option also.

Thanks for double checking this!

In the first place I think it should be a principle that the isometric projection is working with the same layer set.
Secondly - it would be nice to have an Option to use a selected/active layer - but I don't think that is a really urgent option to have.
