Task Description
Not served with the degration to ‘Suggestion’ FS#1759 . Demanded closing FS#1759 & re-entered
Locking entities (by layer) to avoid selection,eg. nearby,very close by or on the same spot, does not have the intended influence.
Asumed wrong: - Modify DI - Modify B2 - Modify D3 - Modify MT These 4 need a single entity to be selected and selection of a locked entity is allowed.(=questionable) The action will allways leed to ‘not allowed’.(=correct)
Questionable: - Modify RM - Modify CH - Modify RN These 3 need a pair of entities. RM: Selection of a locked limiting entity is allowed (=questionable), enity to trim not.(=correct) The action will trim unlocked entities to the locked limiter.(=questionable) CH & RN: Selection of a pair of entities is allowed.(=questionable) Trimming if ‘trim’ is on will not occur because locked and leeds to ‘not allowed’.(=correct) The creation of the bevel or rounding on an active locked layer will not occur because locked and leeds to ‘not allowed’.(=correct) The creation, except for polyline segments (because locked themself), on an active unlocked layer will be done.(=correct)
Less severe but still questionable: (because these don’t necerally act on the locked entities themselves) - Modify OF - Modify OH - Modify SS OF: Selection of a locked base entity is allowed.(=questionable) The preview is casted only if the active layer is unlocked.(=correct) The creation is only done on an active unlocked layer.(=correct) OH: Selection of a locked base entity is allowed.(=questionable) Selection of point references from entities on locked layers is allowed.(=questionable) The preview is casted only if the active layer is unlocked.(=correct) The creation is only done on an active unlocked layer.(=correct) SS: Selection of point references from entities on locked layers is allowed.(=questionable) Strechting is only done for unlocked entities. 1765 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Very Low | Errors with polyline offset | Closed
1 |
Task Description
Win 7 32 bit QCAD 3.20.1
Ofsset of a base-line with arcs results in massive ammount of errors. Most of them occur as a cluster of very tiny segments and are part of the offset. (zoom far in at the red circles) Mostly they occur where the offsetted arcs should merely be trimmend pairwise. Some occur as detached entities or as detached strings of entities very near the offset (strings not documented). Spooks occur at opposite site when base-line is not closed. 360° curls can occur with R = Offset. Null-entities may occur (not documented, hard to find and not able to copy).
The base-line is checked and sound and has mixed tangentially or not tangentially connected arcs. Offsetting the mother base-line of the base in the file has similar effect but not all and/or different ones. Also encountered with offseting polys from fonts. Used to define pocket paths for CNC. Detected because the CNC driver will not accept Self-crossers, Null-entities or open ends depending on the settings.
Work arround is to explode and select small entities but this does not solves the issues. 1) Choosing the tolerance large enough will detect small segments that should stay. 2) Recombining will generate new ones at the place where the main segments remain crossed. Cleaning up the paths is a daunting process with some thousand segments for several offsets.
I assume this has an infuence on the CAM part of QCAD too unless the offset method is different.

Andrew, While enhancing DrawFromCSV: Forum Link. I had a peek at the new command line tool: dwg2csv
I would never come up with 115 columns. That wouldn’t be efficient to generate entities from. Although this way it is very complete and one could use specific lists to filter. One downside is that the ‘-list’ switch return is far too vast for the windows command line.
Remarked that: Only the first alphabetically custom property is listed under: QCAD:Line & QCAD:Reference (columns 114-115). And that the last encountered is persistent for all entities that follows.
Maybe this originates from a multiple entity selection ... ... what also retains the last encountered custom properties in the property editor. Should I add a seperate task for that?
Also had an exception thrown: Debug: dropped global XDATA (no res buf): “ViewportCenter”. Discarted that as this very basic test drawing hasn’t even a Viewport.

2225 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Very Low | Filenames containing an ampersand do not render correct ... | Closed
|
Task Description
If a file is opened whose filename contains an ampersand, the filename will be rendered correctly in the application titlebar, but the tab bar and the Window menu will not display the ampersand.
If, however, the ‘alt’ key is pressed, the ampersand will result in an underscore appearing beneath the character immediately following it in the filename string. This applies both to the titlebar and the Window menu.
Interestingly, this can be “exploited” by a user to quickly switch between tabs by pressing ‘alt’ and the character which follows the ampersand simultaneously. Likewise, a user can swap between windows using the Window menu in a similar fashion, by first pressing Alt+W, then Alt and the same key as before.
The expected result is that the ampersand is rendered, the underscore is not rendered, and the ‘alt’ key shortcuts don’t work.
It would appear that this is a simple case of failing to properly escape the ampersand in filenames before passing the filename string to various Qt methods.

2263 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Very Low | dwg2svg -min-lineweight option parsing broken | Closed
|
Task Description
The parsing for the -min-lineweight option of dwg2svg is broken, only -w or the undocumented -minlineweight options work.
This is due to a typo in the Dwg2Svg.js script around line 225:
properties["minLineweight"] = getArgument(args, "-w", "-min-lineweight");
if (isNull(properties["minlineweight"])) {
properties["minLineweight"] = getArgument(args, "-w", "-minlineweight");
}
This should be:
properties["minLineweight"] = getArgument(args, "-w", "-min-lineweight");
if (isNull(properties["minLineweight"])) {
properties["minLineweight"] = getArgument(args, "-w", "-minlineweight");
}
Note the case minlineweight vs minLineweight.
This has the consequence that the value parsed form -min-lineweight is always replaced with the value from -minlineweight, which is usually undefined.
Since the short option -w is parsed in both cases, it is not affected from the bug.

If the picked entity is not one of these 4 types we get the warning message: “Entity is not a line, arc or polyline.”
The tool prepends/appends 4 types of entities: line, arc and polyline entities and also spline entities approximated by arcs.
Wouldn’t it be more appropriate if the tool mention all 4 types?
e.g. StatusTip: “Create polyline from existing, connected lines, arcs, polylines and splines”
CommandPrompt, LeftMouseTip: “Choose line or arc segment or polyline or spline”
Warning: “Entity is not a line, arc, polyline or spline.”

Task Description
Andrew,
I don’t seem to be able to locate the ‘Draw Order’ sub-menu of the Modify menu. Reported version 3.27.6 and 3.27.8 (I use them side by side) Tested on Win7 32 bit and Win10 64 bit.
I am aware that MF & MB were relocated out of the Modify menu. Two additional PRO tools were added and all four were listed in a sub-menu. (MO: version 3.21.3; MC: information missing in changelog)
MF, MB, MO and MC are displayed in the Modify Toolbar, in the Modification Tools panel and in the Tool Matrix. This is even more curious because DrawOrder.init() only initiates DrawOrder.getMenu(); All three DrawOrder.getToolBar() & DrawOrder.getCadToolBarPanel() & DrawOrder.getToolMatrixPanel() are ruled out.
DrawOrder.getCadToolBarPanel() lists WJ as shortcut QKeySequence but that will bring up the Projections Tool Panel.
In the QCAD Reference Manual (menu Help > Reference Manual) the ‘Draw Order’ icon list is only the Modifying Tools icon. For all four the tools the manual list up: Menu: Modify > Draw Order > ...
Under App.Prefs. > General > Tool Settings MF and MB are listed but not in a sub-menu like for example “Detection“. Seemingly under Modify but they remain visible when Modify is collapsed. MC and MO are listed lower than Help when this is collapsed.
I thought I understood how to implement menus and tools. All this makes me doubt whether I had understood it in its entirety. Could you elaborate in a few words why the menu fails but the Toolbar and Panels work even when these are excluded ...
