I just compiled from github master 10dd588243cce87eb9a7c901ebd77c70464bcb94, and discovered that the Property Editor does not display the values of the “Linetype Scale” or the “Draw Order” anymore, even though they were properly displayed in version 3.12.1.0. The gui text boxes allow the values to be edited, it seems, but the current values are still not displayed after entering new values.

Tested on Arch Linux, 64 bit.

Texts and dimension labels not exported to SVG if text rendering is set to “Render text as text”

Installed latest release.

Checked for update and no connection found: See attached image.

• Hide action in menu, tool bar and CAD tool bar
• Key code of action is also disabled

This also affects actions which are never added to a menu, tool bar or CAD tool bar (e.g. property editor layer menu).

When the currently active layer is locked and some objects from another layer are copied and pasted, they are pasted into the locked layer.

Omitted attributes of line, circle, ellipse, rect should default to 0.

Selection by colour is not working when using Selection Filter tool.

Draw several lines, circles etc. Change colour to Yellow for example and use selection filter to selet ‘Any’ by colour Yellow - it fails for me.

Selection filter should offer choices “By Layer”, “By Block” for “Color” property.

Exception in View > Add View:

TypeError: Result of expression ‘validator.validate’ [undefined] is not a function.

Affects Qt 5 (QCAD for Windows 64bit and Mac OS X 64bit)

It seems that when selection is required to use a modify tool, right clicking for context deselects - of course!

Yep, tried everything I know of, can’t get it back.

Presumably after entering a search filter one would press enter on the keyboard, when I enter for example ‘Line’ and press enter the dialog closes and nothing happens ?

My settings for Coordinate Format: Decimal Point = Dot

Accidentally using a comma instead of a dot in a value field leads to a wrong result without any warning.

Test:

Using the “Rectangle with Size” tool accidentally with a comma will not trigger a warning (red text) and it will draw a wrong sized rectangle.
It seems to me that QCAD is using the after comma value to draw this rectangle.
Given value 30,5 by 50,7 leads to a rectangle 5 by 7
Crazy values like 1.,.35 by 71.,.75 are also accepted and leads to a rectangle size of 35 by 75 without any warning.
A crazy value like 71.,..75 will finally trigger a red text warning!

Counter test horiz. Line: Value 100,25 leads to a line with 25 in length.
Value 100.25 leads to a line with 100.25 in length.

Using the same tools with the correct separator will work as expected!

Same game with most of all other tools which are asking for a given value. No warning at all - just wrongly accomplished.

Intersections between polylines and XLines (infinite lines, contruction lines) cannot be found in some situations.

Tolerance input field in simplify tool has no effect.

When I updated to the most latest version of QCAD I now have no library items - all gone!

Using two monitors where QCAD is on the left monitor with the right monitor being my laptop.
I close QCAD, then disconnect the second external monitor. If I now restart QCAD on just the laptop, it starts in a ‘virtual’ area as if the left monitor was still there. QCAD icon appears in the toolbar but there is no way to move the application back to the main screen.

When “offset whole polyline” is selected and the mouse is moved over a rounded polyline, the preview is not working at least in Window 7/8.
This worked in older versions e.g. 3.6.3.

There is an example appended with an edged inner polyline and a rounded outer one. For the inner one, the offset preview is working as expected, for the rounded one it isn’t. Tested on two different PCs, one Win7 and the other one Win8.

1. Select block to place into drawing
2. Change x-scale to 1/3, observe grayed out y-scale shows (.333)
3. Click chain to unlink x & y scales
4. Change y-scale to 1/2
5. Click chain again to relink x & y scales and y-scale box grays out but 1/2 remains
6. Block is placed using x = 1/3 and y = 1/2 even though the chain shows x & y linked and 1/2 grayed out

Application preference to show / hide scrollbars has no effect (scrollbars always shown).

Block references to blocks with an origin other than 0,0 are not selectable.

Editing redundant properties in the property editor has no effect (e.g. length of line, area of circle, ...)

I am seeing duplicate zoom buttons in the View toolbar, and also under the View menu. Under Application Preferences→General→Tool Settings there are also multiple entries for these, with Shortcuts and Commands highlighted in red (means there are conflicts?). This is the QCAD/CAM version on Linux 32-bit Debian “testing” release. I also tried the same version on Windows 7 64-bit and am not seeing this issue. Screen shots attached.

Would it be possible like in AutoCAD and Draftsight, to copy (from CSV or TXT) into the command line of qcad a table with
vectorpoint to built up a Spline in QCAD ?

Sample:
Spline
10.5,10(LR+CR)
20.8,20.4(LR+CR)

and so on

this text would than paste into the command line, and works like a macro.

Will be very helpful to generate a Spline where the vectorpoint had been calculated with for example “Excel”

The very first entity drawn / loaded does not preserve its drawing order when copied / pasted.

Texts (if rendered as text not paths) and images are rendered in the background if they are inside a block.

- Create block with text or bitmap in front of other entities
- Insert block
- Text and bitmaps are rendered behind entities

Hatch boundaries containing arcs with large radii are rendered imprecisely.

Version 3.14.0.0 (3.14.0) 64bit

I have become used to selecting a line or shape, looking at the Property Editor, selecting the layer list and if appropriate changing the layer.

However since at least 3.13.1 The list shown is not wide enough to read the name of the layer although the colour block can be seen.

I have 3 DXF files and I want to merge them all into 1 single file, so I copy/paste the first, copy/paste the second but for the last it’s impossible because QCAD paste the wrong copy. More I try and more the result is weird

In Linux Mint QCAD offers no ‘Dark’ theme, not sure whether this is a bug or not?

Text - Only simple text is possible. Checked or unchecked option “Simple Text” will not change this. Reboot QCAD after changing shows also no effect.

If the drawing unit is set to ‘feet’ and the dimension format is ‘architectural’ or ‘engineering’, the drawing unit should be implicitly regarded as inch for the purpose of calculating dimension values. Since QCAD uses the drawing unit, the dimension values are off by a factor of 12 when importing drawings from other products.

The layerlist shows at any operation all sublayer, even if they were previously hidden!

Hello everybody,

I’m using QCAD 3.14.3 on Ubuntu Linux 64bit wit a two monitor enviroment.
When I place the option toolbar from the top of main window onto the second monitor, it’s impossible to input a distance. The cursor is missing.
Seems that the input-field is only working correct, when the option toolbar is connected to the main-window.

Hope I described the issue understandable, if not, please don’t hesitate to ask me for further descriptions...

Whould be nice to fix this bug...

Hello everybody,

I’m using QCAD 3.14.3 on Ubuntu Linux 64bit with a two monitor environment.
When I place the commandline-toolbar from the bottom of main window onto the second monitor, it’s impossible activate the commandline by pressing SPACE or CTRL+M. Only when I click into the commandline-toolbar with the mouse-cursor it’s been activated.

Hope I described the issue understandable, if not, please don’t hesitate to ask me for further descriptions...

Whould be nice to fix this bug...

QCAD3.ini may contain invalid positions for the main application windows, e.g.
[Appearance]
Position.X=-32000
Position.Y=-32000

This leads to an invisible main window after starting QCAD under Windows systems.

Modify > Trim
Choose line as limiting entity
Choose spline as entity to trim
The part of the spline that was clicked should remain but is trimmed instead

Print “Command Line” and as “Add measurement to drawing” works as expected.
