Task Description
Hi,
I tried to add a leader and for some reason the arrow does not appear. I found out that this occurs when the line is short. To me, line is sufficiently long enough but somehow QCAD thinks it is too short.
Screenshot shows added leader.
Also when I try to change arrow: no to “yes”, while the dropdown shows yes, I am not able to select it. It just defaults to no.
Workaround: Draw longer line.

2025 | QCAD/CAM | Bug Report | Low | Set Nesting Quantity shows wrong quantity | Closed
|
Task Description
If I set “Set Nesting Quantity” to e.g. 5 it will remember this number within the session. If I need to check which number I’ve used last time there is no way to find the actual used value - it will show me always 1. If I restart QCAD/CAM the value is completely lost and the nesting tool tries to fit in as much as possible into the sheet - regardless that the quantity number still shows one.
It would be nice to have a remember function even after restarting QCAD/CAM and have some kind of possibility to see the last used value.

707 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Medium | segmentation fault on every start - after crash | Closed
|
Task Description
I was drawing on a drawing done in qcad2 - and now working on it in qcad3 - where I had saved it in the new dxf 2010 format (if this has any relevance) and then the computer ran out of power (old battery - I missed that I hadn’t turned on external power) - and shut down hard.
When I rebooted and tried to start qcad - it crashed on startup - giving only this output: Debug: TIMER: 42 ms - “loading plugins” Debug: TIMER: 459 ms - “initializing plugins” ./qcad/qcad: line 38: 2955 Segmentation fault (core dumped) LD_LIBRARY_PATH=”$DIR” “$binary” $OPT1 $OPT2 “$@”
I then tried removing the entire qcad-3.0.0-prof-linux-alt-x86 folder - and unpackaging the install tar.gz again.
It then started up and came to initializing plugins - 79% - and just hung - I’ve attached screenshot.
After I ctrl+c’ed it - it segfaulted and now it won’t even show the startup splash again.
I’m guessing qcad has saved some state somewhere.. but qcad hasn’t made a ~klavs/.qcad - so I don’t know where it is.
I would very much like to be able to use qcad again :(

QCAD has unexpectedly quit.
Please use the offscreen platform plugin for headless systems (without a running X11 server): ./qcad -platform offscreen
In addition, you might have to override the default Qt style to prevent the loading of a native desktop style (such as GTK): ./qcad -style plastique
I have tested this in version 3.22.1 too and get the same result. Reverting all the way back to 3.13.1 results in an operable version of qcad when working on the same file and library blocks.

250 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Low | Scrolling in Property Editor changes List Box elements | Closed
|
Task Description
Bug or Performance Issue? I’m not sure but it regularly trips me up and is counter intuitive.
In the right hand window generally if you scroll in the pane the list of items moves up and down as expected. E.g. Layer List and Block List.
However in Property Editor there are drop down list boxes and scrolling in the Property Editor pane dangerously scrolls elements within any drop down list that the mouse pointer happens to alight upon. This can lead to inadvertently changing properties.
I propose that a drop down list should not scroll until the list is opened. Scrolling in the Property Editor pane should scroll the Property Editor contents.

Task Description
Tested on a Win7 32bit and a Win10 64bit system.
With App.Prefs defaults for new drawings set to mm, mm, metric. Inserting a ‘CubeCuttingOut’ with the default size 10 into a drawing in inch results in size 0.39370079” what is indeed 10mm.
One would expect it to be sized 10 units of the target drawing.
Recently reported by Husky concerning the QCAD Utilities by MikeJ. https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=9429&start=15#p38045
ScriptItems are first created on a new (offline) document. QCAD will then adapt the size with unit conversion. Then it will scale, rotate, flip according the ‘Insert Script’ tool options.
This is fully predictable for standard library items where the source is a dxf file with a defined unit and no unit conversion would occur if the library source unit was ‘None’.
I then assume that this can be fixed with setting the new RDocument in InsertScriptItem.prototype.beginEvent its unit to ‘None’. Not knowing what the intended behavior should be for any other case, source or usage ...

1178 | ECMAScript | Bug Report | Low | scripting definition point and vertical DIMs | Closed
|
Task Description
A regression? In my script I draw stacked dims (depth d):
var c = RVector.getAverage(a, b); // Zentrum der Messung
var dim = new RDimRotatedData();
dim.setExtensionPoint1(a);
dim.setExtensionPoint2(b);
c.x = a.x + d * 50 + ( d > 0 ? 50 : -50 );
dim.setDefinitionPoint(c);
dim.setRotation(Math.PI / 2);
Curiosly, this would work in 3.7.5 but fail in 3.7.7: the DefinitionPoint would be ignored then, but only in vertical ones, not in horizontal ones!
More curiously still: The DIM gets drawn right as soon as I move the setRotation call before the setDefinitionPoint call!
PS: the debugger proved very helpful again :)

1493 | ECMAScript | Bug Report | Low | script processing failure using -exec | Closed
|
Task Description
I have just updated from 3.11.0 to 3.15.5. Often, I load a script with the command format ..../qcad -exec ..../dims.js Note that the script filename is dims.
* Everything is satisfactory with 3.11.0 and always has been.
* qcad-3.15.5 runs satisfactorily without an -exec switch
* qcad-3.15.5 -exec same-file-as-for-3.11.0 crashes per the attached screenshot. The screenshot has been generated by adding the -enable-script-debugger switch.
* It appears that the script dims.js runs completely, and the crash happens as the script handler terminates. The qcad window is complete with the contents defined in dims.js, also qcad is usable normally. This qcad disappears when the debugger is terminated.
* This problem is totally repeatable.

Hi,
Upon selecting and scaling multiple objects, locked layers are also scaled.
Expected: Locked layers are unaffected by any modification commands
Workaround: Manually unselect objects before scaling
