Zooming in or out repeatedly (keeping + or - key pressed or using mouse wheel) shows the drawing at incorrect offsets in between frames with the correct offset.

Original report:

Zoom in and out with the Mouse wheel is working but it is unfortunately jumping in a zickzack course.

Lower left to upper right selection which includes invisible blocks causes warning window if I try to use the clipboard “copy” or “cut” function:

“Trying to draw on or modify entities on a locked or invisible layer”

... but it works!

Upper right to lower left selection over all doesn’t calls the warning window!

Two Points (C2),
Two Points and Angle (A2),
Two Points and Radius (CD),
ONE Mouse-click = Alert message: “The two points are identical”

Tangent two circles (LT2),
Click on first circle = Alert message: “No tangent possible”,
Click on second circle = Alert message: “No tangent possible”

I don’t know: Bug or Feature request ....

Example: If I move the “Library Browser” with the mouse closer than ~63px to the top corner it will go to blend in.
Undo doesn’t works in this case - so I have to pull it out and re-size the widget.

Usually it should blend in if I’m over the bar or at least I have to be much closer to the corner - or not?

Wäre schön wenn das Werkzeug “Lengthen” auch mit Minus Amounts funktionieren würde ....

“Default template to use for new drawings” is a Pro feature. Website state it is also a CC feature.

Case:

1. Launch Add Viewport, adjust setting for scale and rotation, determine Viewport - QCAD will switch to a Layout Block
= scale and rotation works as expected.

2. Launch Add Viewport, determine Viewport - QCAD will switch to a Layout Block,

change scale setting = works as expected on view and frame,

change rotation = works on view BUT NOT ON VIEWPORT FRAME.

“Zoom to selection” shows no effect on vertical and horizontal lines: Message: “No selection found”.

Recognizable at:
vertical lines, horizontal lines,
Rectangle, Rectangle with size,
Polygon Center Point, Polygon two corner (only in the case that you have vertical/horizontal lines),

Shapes as a polyline - no problem.

Scenario:

launch BE / Edit contents of selected block,
Pencil symbol shows that this block is now in edit mode,
launch Rename Block / rename it, confirm with ok, dialog closes,
renaming doesn’t works, pencil symbol is still on that block,
try to launch rename block again - doesn’t work anymore,
return to main drawing,
if I then select this block it will show the new name in the Property editor but not in the block list,
if I try to open this block within the block list again it doesn’t works,
if I open this block within a double-click in my drawing it will open but the pencil isn’t shown.

Wenn ich eine Zeichnung in mm als Grundlage benutze um über die Zwischenablage etwas in eine Inch Zeichnung zu übernehmen wird alles Maßstäblich in Inch konvertiert.

Wenn ich aber einen Block der in einer mm Zeichnung erstellt wurde über die Zwischenablage in eine Inch Zeichnung kopiere wird die Kopie als solches in der Zeichnung auch wieder in Inch konvertiert - der Block wird aber abgelegt in 1mm = 1” und kann unbearbeitet nicht weiterverwendet werden.

Natürlich kann man jetzt fragen: Wer braucht solch einen Blödsinn? Antwort: Amerikaner! In den USA wird blödsinniger weise gemixt .....

Das Trim Werkzeug in QCad ist ideal um Linien zu verlängern in Bezug zu einer anderen Linie.
Wäre schön wenn dies auch umgekehrt funktionieren würde so das ich Linien verkürzen kann in Bezug zu einer anderen (nicht schneidenden) Linie.

Die angezeigten 3 Punkte nach dem xxx.dxf sind überflüssig da die Zeile nach dem dxf definitive endet.

Es wäre schön wenn die “Total Length of selected entities” etwas komfortabler angezeigt würde.

Ich arbeite meistens ohne “Command line”.
Benutze ich das “Info Tool” um die Total Length zu erhalten erhalte ich leider keinen Hinweis wo diese angezeigt wird.
Diese wird nur in der “Command line” angezeigt ....

Zwei Lösungen könnte ich mir vorstellen:
1. Anzeige in der Zeichnung am Mauszeiger ...
2. Anzeige im Property Editor, Geometry, Length (dann natürlich Addiert) anstatt *VARIES*.

Die 2. Lösung halte ich persönlich als die elegante Variante da es eine logisch nachvollziehbare Aussage ist. Zudem erspart es einige Mausklicks auf dem Weg zum Infotool um die gewünschte Info zu bekommen.

Bemaßungen sollten, wenn sie nicht aufgelöst sind, ignoriert werden.

Yes - it is only cosmetic but it is also stealing space in the Toolbar.

Would be nice to have them removed.

File / New from Template fails in different situation like immediately after launching the tool, sometimes after changing directories in the dialog like from imperial to metric etc..
QCAD tries for ever (wait cursor) or even quits QCAD. It’s not a clear pattern ...

Sorry - can’t give you a proper way to reproduce it .... it just happens.

Dimension Arrows shown with reduced contrast, zoom in/out can trigger it but not always,
text hight jumps from “correct” to way to small to a kind of mixed size display,
DIM preview fails often in size - probably depending on zoom factor ...

If I customize the Text height I get redundant Infos for the Contents...

Grundsätzlich finde ich die Optionsauswahl beim erstellen oder editieren eines Textes im “Text Option Window” als sehr Komfortable.

Trotzdem gibt es hier für mich noch einige Ungereimtheiten die ich als Bug bezeichnen würde da es untypische Informationen liefert und verwirrt.

QCad, English, XP, Text Optionen Window:
Im linken Bereich gibt es den sogenannten “Main Font”. Dieser kann aber nicht unter Application/Drawing preferences vorgegeben werden, richtig? Hier würde ich mir wünschen das ich diesen vorgeben kann und es somit ein “Default Font” wäre. Für Bemaßungen benutze ich z.B. eine Vorgabe von 0.137795276 inch (= Deutsche DIN 3.5mm für Texthöhen) und bin Heilfroh das ich dies als Default vorgeben kann ;)

Im rechten Bereich des Text Options Windows kann ich im “Rich Text” Tab den Text formatieren - grundsätzlich eine schöne Sache.
Leider verwirrt mich dieses Fenster immer wieder:
Fallbeispiel:
Text erstellt, individuell formatiert(Textfonts, Höhe, Farbe), positioniert in der aktuelle Zeichnung.
Doppelklicke ich den Text um ihn zu editieren poppt das Optionsfenster auf und der Text ist markiert. Im Text font wird mir gesagt das es der Text Arial ist mit einer Höhe von 1 und schwarz. Da ich aber NICHT Arial verwendet habe und die Texthöhen unterschiedlich sind und alles in rot ist dies eine falsche Information.
Hier hätte ich erwartet: Font = *VARIES*, Höhe = *VARIES*, Farbe = *VARIES*. Klicke ich dann mit der Maus in den Text (Markierung verschwindet, Cursor blinkt im Text) habe ich immer noch die selbe Info - erst ein zweiter Klick spuckt dann die richtige Info aus.

Zurück zum Main Font: Wie nutze ich diesen wenn ich bereits andere Formatierungen verwendet habe - neu eingeben? Gutes Gedächtnis vorausgesetzt Spaß bei Seite: Sollte dies nicht eine Vorgabe sein die “auf Knopfdruck” verwendet werden kann?

Und da ich neugierig bin .... wofür ist die Option “Simple Text”?

Text - Only simple text is possible. Checked or unchecked option “Simple Text” will not change this. Reboot QCAD after changing shows also no effect.

Es wäre Hilfreich für eine eigene durchgängige Standardisierung die möglichkeit zu haben Default Texthöhen in den Application/ Drawing Preferences vorgeben zu können.

Perfekt wäre in meinen Augen das man drei Texthöhen vorgeben könnte wie z.B. 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 5mm die bei der Eingabe von Text (oder beim editieren) per Schalter gewählt werden könnten. Das individuelle eingeben von Texthöhen sollte aber zudem beibehalten werden.

Bei der Bemaßung kann ich dies bereits jetzt für eine Texthöhe einrichten ...

Given: Template with prepared Paper Space Frame/Titleblock scale = 1:1.
Drawing 1:1
First Viewport / scale 1:1 / inserted in Paper Space = everything fine,
Second Viewport / scale 0.02 will scale the Paper respective to the new Viewport scale but the Frame/Titleblock isn’t scaled.

Task:
I like to draw a line tangent between two circle.

I choose the line/tangent tool - click the first circle - get a Warning Message: “No tangent possible” confirm the Message with the OK Button.
Choose the second circle - get again a Warning Message: “No tangent possible” confirm also this Message with the OK Button.

Result: A line tangent between two circle ......

Tab value specification in Option bar: Lengths 2, Thickness 1
G-code Lengths = 8.35 (in my example), Thickness 1

It would be nice if we could use the Stretch tool also on blocks.

There are so many possibility’s to build a really good (time-saving) block-list /library with preassembled parts but if I have always to explode / ruin the block to use the stretch tool doesn’t helps the productivity.

Status change for Visibility is without any effect on Viewports in Paper_Space.

Case:
Entities drawn on a layer in Model_Space. Visibility on/off works.
Situation covered with a Viewport, placed in Paper_Space, Edit content launched for that Paper_Space, Visibility on/off doesn’t works.

It was properly working in previos QCAD versions ...

After saving an open designed Spline QCad will open it the next time as a closed spline.
Trying to fix this in the Property Manager using “Closed Periodic yes/no” leads to an open but broken spline.

I can’t find any documentation (Reference Manual / Book) about the possibility to change the “corner” transition shape for Spline’s (Control Points) with multiple mouse clicks.
1, 2 or 3 clicks = smooth to sharp corner.

Wenn ich versuche einen Block zu verschieben mit dem Ziel “Intersection manual” wird nicht die im Block ausgewählte Linie benutzt sondern alle im Block befindlichen Linien die eine “Intersection manual” ermöglichen würden.

Auch die visuelle Auswahlerleichterung einer Linie (Farbe ändert sich beim drüberfahren mit der Maus) wird im Block nicht unterstützt :(

... except reference points I can’t anymore snap to any line on a Dimension. To make a proper alignment I need to use the Grid or other entities.

Vorgabe: Kreis der verschoben werden soll auf einen Punkt zwischen zwei Vertikale Linien.

Auswahl des Kreises,
Funktion Verschieben/Kopieren,
Referenzpunkt = Mitte Kreis,
Zielpunkt Middle Manuel,
Erster Punkt = Center 1. vertikale Linie,
Zweiter Punkt restricted Horizontal zum ersten Punkt,
QCad benutzt nun fälschlicher Weise den Referenzpunkt des Kreises anstatt den Center der bereits gewählten 1. vertikalen Linie ....

Snap to “Intersection manual” is only working in dependency on Line/Polyline orientation.

Two Polylines (not each other crossing): doesn’t works.

One Line, one Polyline (not each other crossing) works only in dependency on entity orientation.

Feature request? Bug? I don’t know ...

NumBlock Enter key is not accepted by “Coordinate” tool to confirm the settings in the option bar (green Arrow icon). Enter key on main keyboard works.

Very confusing when you are used to type in all numbers with the NumBlock (what is very fast) but to confirm you have to use the “far away” Enter on the Main keyboard ...

The Snap “Reference” is perfect working on circles.

I would be nice to have this function also on Arc’s.
There are many necessities to attach a Horizontal or Vertical line on an arc or an “ex circle” (circle after a cut,)rounds etc. in a professional drawing.

Für meine Templates benötige ich die Symbole der Projektionsmethode 1 UND die Projektionsmethode 3.

Deshalb habe ich jeweils einen Block für die Symbole entworfen welche in dem Template an der selben Stelle platziert sind und entsprechend ein- bzw. ausgeblendet werden sollen. Beim aufrufen des Templates soll natürlich einer der Blöcke bereits sichtbar sein.

Leider kann ich aber einen Unsichtbar geschalteten Block nicht als solches abspeichern was dazu führt das ich beim aufrufen des Templates mehrere Blöcke sichtbar übereinander habe. Layer kann ich als unsichtbar abspeichern.

Ich sehe sehr viele Verwendungen um mit sichtbaren/unsichtbaren Blöcken ein Template vorzubereiten. Da es mit Layern funktioniert denke ich mir sollte es auch mit Blöcken machbar sein.

Oder ist es ein Bug?

Shortcut YR, YE etc. fails for marked Layer. It works at active layer.

Case:
launch LI,
launch for the first point SH, set to 5 distance,
snap to a point,
activate Auto snap, (which would work with SD for EH and EV but not for Alt)
try to restrict orientation for second point with ALT, EH, EV - it won’t work in this scenario ...

Edit: Playing around ... could it be that RZ is not propperly set within those tools?

If I set “Set Nesting Quantity” to e.g. 5 it will remember this number within the session.
If I need to check which number I’ve used last time there is no way to find the actual used value - it will show me always 1.
If I restart QCAD/CAM the value is completely lost and the nesting tool tries to fit in as much as possible into the sheet - regardless that the quantity number still shows one.

It would be nice to have a remember function even after restarting QCAD/CAM and have some kind of possibility to see the last used value.

Eigenschaft / Auswahlliste wird nicht in Deutsch angezeigt.

It would be nice if we could use the length of a polyline as a search criterion too.

The Selection Filter doesn’t works proper with a Line / Continuous combination. Example drawing has Linetype by Layer and not by Layer

If I try to use the Selection Filter to find Lines regarding to the used Angle it fails in many cases.

In my test drawing you can see that I’m able to select Lines with an 0° Angle but I’m not able to select any of the other lines with e.g. an 45° / 90° 180° or 315° etc. angle.

The German translation isn’t shown in all parts of the Selection Filter.

It would be nice to get a status information after the use of the “Search/Replace” tool.

Something like: “5 matches found and replaced”,
or
no “matches found”.

It helps allot to get an Idea what happens in your drawing. Right now the tool window will just disappear and you have no idea about any success.

Tested with checked / unchecked button for proportional scaling - but it doesn’t matter.

QCAD 3.1.5 - has a new “Dimensioning Scale adjustment option” (Property editor/Linear Factor). NICE!!!

What means - we are now able to change the dimension scale for existing dims!

My Feature request refers to new dimensions and I think it would be perfect to have a “Scale Factor - On/Off Option” for all Dim Tools.

That would bring us in the position to copy / scale a part of our drawing for a detail view and we could just use us usual the dimensioning tools (with a scale factor) for the dimensioning task ....

The ruler functionality is compromised by Graphics View / Grid settings.
To show the full Ruler functionality “Automatic scale grid” has to be activated. I think that is not intended behavior.

Case: Appearance / Show rulers = activated

Application Preferences / Graphics View / Grid

on - Automatically scale grid
on - Automatically scale meta grid
off - Solid grid lines
= Rulers visible
= Graduation visible
= Labels visible

off - Automatically scale grid
