Hi Andrew
when I set up my default choice of viewports - say ‘Two vertical’, they do not retain either the initial starting position or indeed the position I leave them in when I reopen a drawing. On opening a new/previous drawing - always one of the viewports is at ‘almost’ full extents!
I then have to manually re-position my viewports to suit.

Is this normal behavior happening here?
It would be good if a drawing opened with persistent viewport positions held, possibly this option could be added to the ‘Layout’ Viewports dialog window?

*Out of interest, when you introduce an isometric grid in the future - will it be possible to set up a ‘Three:Right’ layout view for example and have all three viewports showing different planes - Top, Front and South East?

Viewports only display entities on the zero plane.

When toggling the plotability of the viewport layer, the Arial fonts inside the viewport when viewing the paperspace disappear or move when plotability is turned off. This does not occur for the CAD Standard font, and it does not happen with text that is not brought in via a viewport, such as from a block or added directly into paperspace. I have attached a DXF and a video file that shows the odd behavior.

I am using QCAD 3.27.0 and Win10 Pro.

Recursion in move, rotate, mirror, stretch of viewport entity.

Case:

1. Launch Add Viewport, adjust setting for scale and rotation, determine Viewport - QCAD will switch to a Layout Block
= scale and rotation works as expected.

2. Launch Add Viewport, determine Viewport - QCAD will switch to a Layout Block,

change scale setting = works as expected on view and frame,

change rotation = works on view BUT NOT ON VIEWPORT FRAME.

QCad 3.19.2 Pro 64 bit. Windows 10, Linux Mint

All functions in context menu does not work with “Viewport entities” (Delete, Cut, Copy,etc).
But all same functions also work with keyboard shortcuts, from command line and buttons from toolbar.

“Zoom to selection” shows no effect on vertical and horizontal lines: Message: “No selection found”.

Recognizable at:
vertical lines, horizontal lines,
Rectangle, Rectangle with size,
Polygon Center Point, Polygon two corner (only in the case that you have vertical/horizontal lines),

Shapes as a polyline - no problem.

Good morning,
i’m using italian version of QCAD.
I’m very satisfied about it.
But the filter selection do not work if you want
to select by linetype.
I can not fill the last field requested with the line type.
Other filters for example color works well.
I’m sorry for my little english , i hope you will understand me.

The “Any” filter matches no entities.

Add alpha property to filter for hatches.

Affects arc, circles, ellipses and polylines with segment length < dash length

Circles and arcs with dash patterns are not rendered properly if View > Screen-based linetypes is activated.

The scale property for viewports cannot be edited.

• Make sure Property Editor is not shown
• Select entity with custom linetype (e.g. dashed)
• View > Property Editor
• Property “Linetype” is shown as “By Layer”

Layer combo box in the property editor is not sorted.

Create block with attribute definition.
Create block reference.
Edit block and delete attribute definition.
Select block reference.

When entering block attributes in the Properties Editor, the German special characters are not displayed correctly.

Spacing for symbols in layer list way to wide compared to previous versions.

Scenario:

launch BE / Edit contents of selected block,
Pencil symbol shows that this block is now in edit mode,
launch Rename Block / rename it, confirm with ok, dialog closes,
renaming doesn’t works, pencil symbol is still on that block,
try to launch rename block again - doesn’t work anymore,
return to main drawing,
if I then select this block it will show the new name in the Property editor but not in the block list,
if I try to open this block within the block list again it doesn’t works,
if I open this block within a double-click in my drawing it will open but the pencil isn’t shown.

Create and insert a block with entities on layer “0” and layer “1”.

Switch off layer “1”.

Auto zoom zooms to block boundary of all entities, including those on layer “1”.

Affects drawings with block referenced to empty block for auto zoom and command line tools (dwg2bmp, dwg2pdf, ...).

Exception in View > Add View:

TypeError: Result of expression ‘validator.validate’ [undefined] is not a function.

Whilst using qcad professional today, I have lost hours waiting for the to start working, as it keeps crashing with every command/drawing a line/editing a shape.

Hopefully you can look in to this and advice?

The attached file is not saving font preference.
All fonts on the online layer are reported as the standard font. If I highlight one or all of the text entities and change the font to something like Yu gothic light, the property page reports yu gothic light and the screen reflects the changed font.
If I save, close and reload, the fonts for all text is again “standard”.

So then I try to enter new text via the “A” draw text command icon. I select “Broadway.ttf” as the main font in the text entry dialog.
One word “Broadway” is entered as the text. it appears on the upper left of the screen as expected and the font name is Broadway in the property editor. If I look at the dxf file source there is a whole bunch of text styles.
I save and close the file, and then open it again. Now the word Broadway has changed to font name “standard” in the property editor and is very definitely not the Broadway.ttf font.

I am not the originator of the file, I am just trying to change the font. If I start a new file and enter new text the font saves just fine, so I am thinking it is a setting somewhere, but I am unable to find it.

We (me and my customers) use these files for engraving so exact font is critical.
