Blocks disappear (or their content does) after creating again with the same name. In attached file:

1) Created cirle
2) Select circle, BC, select center, name is ‘testblock’ 3) Repeat 2) – circle is now gone

Deleted (undone) block attributes are stored to DXF/DWG.

In print preview mode I click the button for drawing preferences.
I go to Printing: Page and change the offset for x,y in the viewport.
Then apply but the page has not moved and the autozoom still redirects to the old position.
When I redraw the window through the window manager or quit and reopen the printpreview the page has moved to it spot.

Stretching multiple points of an entity is not possible to my knowledge. I
can use the stretch tool but this gives me a rectangular selection box and
this limits my posibilities. For example when entities are over eachother.
I hope that in the future this will become more like blender. With a freedraw
selection tool and/or shift clicking multiple nodes.

I use a font that changes the characters of latin and greek to technical symbols.
http://www.fontspace.com/micronus/y145m-2009 The font is installed and working okee.
But in the text tool → special characters button → others I expect to see this modified character map but instead I see the standard unicode characters.
When I use a gtk tool gucharmap I can see the character map as expected.
Now it is really combersome to enter the special characters.

It woul be really handy if there is an option to set the reference point of the copy selection.
Maybe this can be added to the clipboard widget?

I have set the delete layer preference to make the next layer in the list the current. This will not work for sublayers. After deleting a sublayer the 0 layer will become current.

Shortcuts do work except G,Y (and maybe other I don’t know of)

To improve the flow of drawing I’d like to switch off the dialog for the rotate tool. Most of the times i use the interactive input and delete the original. So I don’t need to click a popup to acknowledge that.
I allready use the same option for the move/copy tool.

Copy block reference in drawing with one unit (e.g. Inch).
Paste into drawing with other unit (e.g. Millimeter) using a rotation while pasting.

Create hatch
Set origin point of hatch pattern to custom coordinate
Save
Load

Hatch offset parameters are unchanged but visual appearance has changed

Hi,

if I create in a new drawing a layer list and use the Show all Layers / Hide all Layers function everything works as expected.

If I hide one or more Layers individually and directly in the Layer List (click on the Eye) I can’t make them visible with the Show all Layer function. It looks like individual hidden Layer are protected with a higher priority.

If I load an “old” drawing all individual settings for a hidden Layer are with a higher priority than Show all Layers. If I click every single Eye for each Layer to make them visible then I’m again able to toggle the visibility for all Layer in once.

... just cosmetic!

The Option drop down list for rotations (e.g. Paste etc) shows all steps incremental for every 15 degree - but 15 and 345 degree are missing.

I’m happy that we don’t have bigger problems!!!

when I export my dxf drawing to pdf, the pdf properties shows wrong “created date”. I am in UTC+2, the date shows 2 hours less.
I exported the pdf at 12:24, the attached ps shows 10:24.

Trying to design PCB with QCad (as hobby ;) I found an inconvenience with routing tracks through holes: I need end one line, snapped to the one edge of contact pad and start new line from other side of the pad, otherwise if line goes through the hole and covers it, hole disappears or becomes damaged; or I need to clean each hole of track parts before printing.

so, subject is: to define a certain area of white or background colour, so if any object (line or other shape) intersects it, it will be just invisible inside this area. they may still be visible, say, in draft mode.

I’ve been thinkig about simpliest way to make it, but not sure. Maybe it can be an additional property of the hatch, or it can be specific “background” solid colour, which can be applied to the hatch (apply this colour to other kind of object is not a good idea).

Then contact pad can be defined as shape with smaller round hatch inside to designate hole, so we can route lines, snapping them to the hole centers, not caring about clearing these holes later of little pieces of tracks.

I made a set of places for dip chips. I did not met any problem until I add “bottom” and “top” designation :)

Now if I add to the drawing narrow place first, then wide one, wide place has “top” as narrow, and vice versa: if the wide place is first, then narrow will have wide “cap”. Same is with library items, based on these places... Maybe it is because block of the “top” have same number and are treaten as same?

In the attach you may see library items and two resulting files.

The dimension settings for the active drawing are not being written correctly, it is not possible to change the font of the dimension, it always returns as ‘standard’ when closing and reopening the file, even if another font has been configured for new drawings when changes It will return as ‘standard’. Operting system is Linux Mint.

Print preview not fitting paper.
Have not found away to correct even after deleting ~/.config/QCAD/QCAD3.ini

Using the bold function (button) in the text editor causes transaction fail on new text entries. Emboldening selected text on existing text shows bold in the editor but this does not carry through to drawing or print preview views.

Drawing unit conversion sets the dimension scale override property for all dimensions, even if it was 0 before.

The option “open in the browser” in the “library browser” doesn’t work on Linux Mint 18.2 (KDE) whose default browser is Dolphin.

Hello,

since 3.17.1 (also on 3.17.2.0) it’s impossible to insert “@” in commandline, so it’s impossible to work with relative coordinates in all funktions like rectangle, line etc.
Please do a fast Bugfix, I need that functionality for workflow urgently

Some Linux distributions only show filter strings up to the first “(” in the file dialog.

I would like to request an additional option in the dimension tool set to have a curved leader line, could be just the spline tool with an arrow on the end?

The explode function preference ‘Spline Segments’ has no influence on the created number of polyline segments any more.

Attached is a file with an example.
The same spline exploded with setting 2-4-8 & 128 segments.
Result for the indicated spline is 59 and constant.

Copy - Paste to current layer from an other drawing creates empty layers, where the entities orininated from, in the drawing where they are pasted to.

 FS#1604  was issued because of non-intuitive hierarchy of the preferences for the Explode function.
The task comment recieved explains the funcionallity in details not found elsewhere.

Indentation of the phrase ‘Spline Segments:’ suggest hierarchy.
Graying out the drop down box for the number of spline segments establish hierarchy.

Unsupported XData type NOT imported errors on loading DWG files.
Resulting lines in image are not drawn correctly.

Load “Bemassung.dxf” Edit > Drawing Preferences > Dimension > Dimension Settings > Size scale factor: set to 1
Edit > Drawing Preferences > Dimension > Dimension Settings > Size scale factor reverts to 0.5

Cabinet projections are usually drawn at 45 or 30 degrees, having drawn up many furniture configurations over the years, would it be possible to add options for 45 and 30 degrees at all?

To have an option added to the lengthen / Shorten tool to be able to select more than one entity and do a ‘multi’ lengthen / shorten operation.

But the filter selection do not work if you want
to select by linetype.
I can not fill the last field requested with the line type.
Other filters for example color works well.

Existing Leader with Arrow status “yes” in drawing,
launch “Convert Drawing Unit”,
convert drawing unit,
Leader status for Arrow “yes” is now changed to “no”,

Case:
Drawing in mm with Entries in the View List,
Convert (CU) drawing from mm to inch,
View List still exist but has lost the coordinates for each defined window,

Application Setting to set line weight setting on Layer 0 to a value (Default for example). Currently Layer 0 set to 0.25mm (ISO) New drawings will have Layer 0 set to this “default” line weight. Works for addition of new layers, but not initial Layer 0 on New drawing?

The X scale of block attributes, (and simple text) is not being saved with the drawing.
This problem was fixed for a while, but has re-appeared lately.

Add command line argument to generate only one specific zoom level or a range of zoom levels.

Hi,

often I’m in the situation that I have to create an additional Layer mostly based on the settings from an already existing Layer. Just a question of organization. This new Layer has then everything identical except the name and one(?) Attribute. This could be that only the color or the Line weight deviates.

Example:

Existing Layer

Layer name: Lot 47 area existing

Attributes

Color: Red

Lineweight: 0.35

Linetype: Dashed

New Layer

Layer name: Lot 47 area proposal

Attributes

Color: Blue

Lineweight: 0.35

Linetype: Dashed

Unfortunately if done manually it happens in an blink of an eye that the human imperfection (me!) makes a mistake and (e.g.) a “Center (.5x)” finds it way into the Linetype Field instead of a “Center (.2x)” ....

The workaround for a few User is to use in cases like this the Property Editor / General Property and customize single Attributes. In my opinion the first step to lose the control over your own drawing ...

A “Copy Layer” / Copy Layer Attributes” function would speed up this task and eliminate to a minimum the “human imperfection” factor.

I could imagine that a right click (like copy block) on the Layer triggers the “Add Layer” function and the dialog is already prefigured with the Settings of the Source Layer ...... ready for editing.
The new Layer itself is “empty” like any other new Layer.

Polylines with arc segments with large radii are not exported correctly due to imprecise QPainterPath::addArc.

Hi,

if I use the “Print current view” tool for a Landscape format - everything works just nicely!
If I use it for a Portrait print - the scale is way of.

For this example I used a rectangle as reference. The details what I’m looking for are captured with same sized red rectangles. The Paper orientation was changed before I used the Print command. To have the maximum view I select the rectangle and used “Zoom to selection” - then Print to current view.
