Task Description
I guess this is a case of wording and wrong expectations.
The polyline tool “Delete Segments between two nodes” removes nodes, but not segments as the title and the icon suggests.
I propose to rename it to “Delete Nodes between two nodes”.
A tool which actually removes line segments from a polyline, leaving gaps, could indeed be useful to some users.
I think of a straight polyline with several segments. Then I remove some segments. I end up with a polyline with “holes” in it. Now I could stretch that polyline and all the remaining segments and holes stretch proportionally. Could be handy some times.

Task Description
I have a dwg file and find the performance very poor when trying to move an entity. QCAD3 beta 3 appears incapable of performing the necessary calculations for the “Auto Snap” when trying to select the reference point (the mouse pointer does not track the path). If Auto Snap is turned off there is no performance issue.
I can provide a problem file (via email) but am unable to upload it to the internet as it is a proprietary drawing.

2. Version 3 RC3 or 2 (Ubuntu) - the resultant offset of the Spline was unacceptable in Version 3 RC2/3 and only 50% of the offset was created!

Like the Library Browser it would be nice to be able to define a extern font source folder. Especially now after we are able to create our own cxf fonts with QCAD.
The reason is the same why we have it already for the library - without it we have to copy our individual fonts manually every time after a QCAD update to use them uninterrupted for existing and new drawings.

1204 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Low | Possible Library Indexing bug | Closed | |
|
Task Description
26 April 2015
I have the Library browser set up per instructions from website. The following is about as good an explanation as I can come up with for now.
When I open the program the software keeps trying to update the library index at start-up regardless of whether “Update search index on start-up” is checked or unchecked (this happens when there are items installed into the library and show up in the browser window). However, if I have no library components installed and open the program the software does not try to update the index and immediately opens the main program window (when the index at start-up is unchecked). I can use the manual method to update the index at that time. However after doing that, same thing happens. When I close out and restart the program again the software will want to update the index before the main window opens up (with the index at start-up unchecked).
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it again to no avail. It still does the same thing. Therefore I have to wait around 30 sec to 1 minute to wait for and update of the index depending on what I have in the library browser at any one time. Most times I open the program I don’t need index updating as there are no new items to add to the library.

Task Description
Hallo Andrew,
I am still busy on the never ending G-code story. Doing so I wrote a small Post Processor Tutorial for all those nerds who wants to write their own. If you like it you might add it to QCAD. However, since English is not my native tongue I suggest checking it would be wise.
Meanwhile I have downloaded the source code, and could not find the CAM’s Drill-path-script. I am now using a negative Drill Cut Depth to set a Laser Dwell time, were as a field “Dwell Time (in seconds)” in the Drill-path would be more appropiate. Is this script open source available or is it part of ‘closed part’ of QCAD?

Task Description
Hi,
unfortunately I need to use from time to time different Units in a drawing. It works nice with the Scale possibility but to keep my drawing readable I need to label then the DIM accordingly. Sadly I don’t have a Postfix option so I work with a workaround what means I use <>”, or <>’ and <>mm in the Prefix field. If I then terminate the DIM tool and start it again I will loose my settings except the Scale Factor.
May I ask for an additional Postfix option or/and a remember functionality of those fields?

Task Description
Hi,
if I use the “Print current view” tool for a Landscape format - everything works just nicely! If I use it for a Portrait print - the scale is way of.
For this example I used a rectangle as reference. The details what I’m looking for are captured with same sized red rectangles. The Paper orientation was changed before I used the Print command. To have the maximum view I select the rectangle and used “Zoom to selection” - then Print to current view.
Portrait, scale way of: Husky-2017.09.25-03.png
Portrait, manual adjusted - it should look close to this one: Husky-2017.09.25-04.png
I attache for testing the dxf too.

But that didn’t work.
Maybe the test is better if reversed ?
if (RS.getSystemId()==="win") {
// slot 'dummy' is never called:
Print.printDialog.open(this, "dummy");
} else {
Print.printDialog.exec();
}
(PS: This should be “Operating System = FreeBSD” but that’s not in the pull-down menu)

Task Description
Just started using v.3.4.2 under Linux Mint 14. To begin with I could not print my drawing in color. Worked out that this was due to the default printer setting (driver hpcups 3.12.6) which was Draft Grayscale. My drawing printed in color fine when I changed this. I believe that it ought to be possible to set this from within QCAD, but the dialog “Print>[printer]Properties>Advanced” is blank. Has it been disconnected somehow?

Via - edit>drawing preferences or Application preferences>print page set up, it seems to make no difference setting the page orientation to either “Portrait” or “landscape” because when you go to print preview the set up you previously set doesn`t overide and set the orientation “set buttons” in print preview, so you have to manually set the orientation for the page you want to print from here (in print preview) regardless of the previously “preferenced” set up.

I have notice this behavior a couple times before but wasn’t sure what is the trigger for that. Now I figured out one (I’m sure there are more) scenario which shows the effect:
New drawing, Drawing preferences; Drawing Units: Meter, Meter, Metric,
Printing Page: ISO A4
Print Preview:
Auto fit drawing to page - fails to calculate the scale, Auto fit pages to drawing - fails also ...
Counter test: same drawing - change Paper Unit to mm, Reset Paper size to A4 ...

The deviation in Imperial is clearer than in Metric.

- Draw a rectangle, say 100 x 100 (I use mm unit, but does it matter?) 1 - Turn on print preview - Turn off print preview - OK 2 - Turn on print preview - Set scale 1/10 - Lines are thicker now, this is good - Turn off print previw - Lines stay thick in model view, should that be so? 3 - Set layer 0 to use dash as line-style - Turn on print preview - Looks OK - Set scale 1/10 - Dashes hardly visible, looks almost like a continuous line
In the end of 2,3 a way to reset line width display in model view is to cancel scaling in print preview, ie. turn on print preview, set scale 1:1. I suppose this is a regression since TP1: model view always is unscaled.
The line-width scaling is quite accurate now: Draw two lines 10 mm apart. Set line-width 0.5mm. Set scale 1:20 and the lines exactly touch.
