Es wäre schön wenn die “Total Length of selected entities” etwas komfortabler angezeigt würde.

Ich arbeite meistens ohne “Command line”.
Benutze ich das “Info Tool” um die Total Length zu erhalten erhalte ich leider keinen Hinweis wo diese angezeigt wird.
Diese wird nur in der “Command line” angezeigt ....

Zwei Lösungen könnte ich mir vorstellen:
1. Anzeige in der Zeichnung am Mauszeiger ...
2. Anzeige im Property Editor, Geometry, Length (dann natürlich Addiert) anstatt *VARIES*.

Die 2. Lösung halte ich persönlich als die elegante Variante da es eine logisch nachvollziehbare Aussage ist. Zudem erspart es einige Mausklicks auf dem Weg zum Infotool um die gewünschte Info zu bekommen.

Bemaßungen sollten, wenn sie nicht aufgelöst sind, ignoriert werden.

But a tool for copying/pasting entities along a given path would be great. In the attached snapshot you can see what I am trying to acheive - to copy/paste the brick along a wall contour. A dedicated tool for doing something like this would be great...sure I can do it with the tools provided in QCAD already but it sure would make life so much easier if there was a tool specific for this kind of thing.
I am actually working on some ‘real’work projects with these requirements and it does take a bit of time to get correct!

Or maybe an additional Points tool option to plant points along a curve would be good!

It would be nice if one could not only change the icon size of the widget panel but also the icon size of the tool bars.

I use points in my drawing s often for referencing and construction purposes, I would like to request that in the application settings some options could be added for point styles.
For example:
Style - cross with circle or other styles useful for temporary construction referencing.
The option to set the size either relative to the screen or indeed in absolute units.

To re-introduce an ‘Array’ option with Number of columns/rows and Column/row spacing.

This option could be added to the Modify tool set so - could be used with all entities, not only blocks!

Wieder einzuführen Ein ‘Array’ Option mit Anzahl der Spalten / Zeilen und Spalten / Zeilen Abstand.

Diese Option könnte der Modify Tool so eingestellt, hinzugefügt werden - konnte mit allen Stellen, nicht nur Blöcke verwendet werden!

I’ve looked high and low and cannot find how the the Status Bar is toggled on/off as in QCAD2

When I save a view for print i like that wiew remember the layers open and closed.

This feature could be improved with remember print scale, dimension text size and page size

I am guessing this is an external library, but you maybe able to push it upstream.

Certain Autocad DWG files with embeded blocks fail to display text that was associated with them. For example see grid ref D.03 in the attached autocad drawing, the circles are terminals and should have nos in them.

Have tried exploding them in qcad etc, but nothing.

Es wäre Hilfreich für eine eigene durchgängige Standardisierung die möglichkeit zu haben Default Texthöhen in den Application/ Drawing Preferences vorgeben zu können.

Perfekt wäre in meinen Augen das man drei Texthöhen vorgeben könnte wie z.B. 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 5mm die bei der Eingabe von Text (oder beim editieren) per Schalter gewählt werden könnten. Das individuelle eingeben von Texthöhen sollte aber zudem beibehalten werden.

Bei der Bemaßung kann ich dies bereits jetzt für eine Texthöhe einrichten ...

When many tabs are open, the name of contained drawing is not fully shown. One way that some mdi applications do, is to append the name of the active tab to the top window title, which is also useful in other ways. At least a tool tip with the full name of the file on the tab top was nice.

Switch on / off line width display (display mode between normal and draft)

Polylines may consist of lines and arcs. The SVG PG exporter writes them as all straight lines. A better mapping than polyline then was path, as is done with arcs now.

Add support for scale transforms in SVG import.

Original report:

When importing an SVG created with Inkscape, one of the elements (rectangle) is shifted (mirrored?) to the left.
The example (back.svg) is appended. If you open it with Inkscape, you see the rectangle should be above the “USB” label.

My impression is that the sign of the X coordinate is swapped for some reason. At least if I mirror it
using two points on the Y axis, it seems to appear where it should be.

Apart from this, also the dimensions are wrong after import. In the original SVG, the outer shape is 144.3mm wide.
This is also visible in the header of the SVG:

 width="144.300mm"
 height="53.800mm"

However, after importing to QCad, the width is measured as 40.7247. This is a puzzling factor of 3.5433 which doesn’t look
like metric/imperial conversion issue but like a complete misinterpretation of the sizes/units used in the SVG.

Add support for importing units other than defaults (pixels) based on unit given in svg:width / svg:height attributes.

QCAD seems either to mishandle or ignore svg group transformations altogether.

Importing the attached file into QCAD renders the largest polygon (polygon18) to be rotated and misplaced. This is shown in actual.png. The expected result (original Inkscape renedering) is shown in expected.png.

Looking at the code of the original drawing it can be observed there is a transformation applied to the group which polygon18 is in:

Removing the ‘transform’ attribute produces virtually identical (erroneous) rendering in Inkscape as well.

The attached file should result in two overlapping circles, it does not, it results in a single ellipse.

The “<circle ... />” directive seems just be ignored in this case, but in other instances I have seen it result in ellipses.

And the “<ellipse ... />” directive should of course result in a circle, when rx and ry are the same.

Complete SvgImporter.js and SvgImport.js

1. Implement SvgImporter.prototype.importFile to import the SVG file with the given fileName. Reading only all path data without any attributes or transformations is fine as a first step. SvgImporter.prototype.importFile() currently imports one hard coded path data as proof of concept.
2. Implement SvgImport.prototype.beginEvent() to show a file open dialog that lets the user choose an SVG file to import.
3. Support SVG as file format for part library items through SvgImporter

This should be enough to import any SVG file in library/symbols

Somewhere in the 3.1 series the SVG exporter (both precise and PG) started to make lines that are zero (0) width in CAD 0.01 (@scale 1:1) points wide in exported files (0.1 @scale 1:10). I use such lines to constrain exported files to a common size and rather not have them show. In my view, this is a regression, as there is no reason for changing line weight, isnt it? If I wanted the lines to have weight, I’d draw them with a weight.

SvgExporter.js uses PrintPreview to parse the scale string, and therefore depends on the qt GUI part. That should not make maintenance harder to call RMath directly there? Results seem to match from a first look.

It would be nice if the OS X Pro version could support the standard OS X full screen pattern in the same way as native OS X applications.

With this I mean that applications in full screen will create a temporary new desktop as long as they are in full screen mode.

There is one important ACAD feature that I would really like to see supported in QCAD3 and that is “Layouts”

Looking at the block lists, it seems to me that it can’t be too much extra work to support it, since the model space and different paper spaces are already shown there - and one can edit it.

QCAD draws infinitely easier than ACAD and drawing layouts is a primary feature of ACAD. With this in QCAD I can hardly see why anyone that does 2D work would need ACAD at all.
