QCAD Professional Win7 winInstaller 32bit Version: 3.25.2.7 (3.25.2.7) Internet: QCAD.org Build Date: Dec 16 2020 Revision: e06f230 Qt Version: 5.13.2 Architecture: i386 Compiler: Unknown
Include file was open when using ‘Edit Block In-place (BB)’ in an other drawing. Happend on 5/1/2021 just before 2:56 am https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?&t=7945#p31055
‘Edit Block In-place (BB)’ is never used in this drawing. There was never a Block in this file. I might have switched focus.
Re-installed QCAD a dozen times meanwhile. Wiped all what remained of QCAD twice. Cleaned up the windows registry twice. Lastly left out all kinds of my custom scripts. Simply a bare install with the msi file.
How to replicate: - Start QCAD in normal mode - Load included file - Set App.Prefs .. Startup .. Restore open files - Close QCAD - Start QCAD in debugger mode (-rescan -enable-script-debugger -always-load-scripts)
Boot fails. Every successive trial.
When booting in normal mode I see the BB options toolbar blink shortly.
3 Screengrabs in DebuggerModeError.zip in the same topic. The blink I can’t catch.
I can Boot with no file to retore on open in debugger mode and load the file. I have several of those files, all were open that day at 2:56 am

|
Task Description

How to reproduce the issue:

save and reopen the file
the dimension shows correctly the string but its label only the normal text, for example: t
Note that if the button “Use auto measurement” (next to the “label” field) is pressed, the real measurement is showed along with the sub/super script, which now can’t be removed.

Task Description
Happened somewhere between ab3e02 (works) and 67516a (doesn’t work).
In 67516a (current HEAD), when I attempt to launch the Text tool, the following is printed on stderr:
Warning: Script Exception:
"ReferenceError: Can't find variable: RTextBasedData"
Warning: "<anonymous>()@/tmp/qcad/scripts/Draw/Text/TextDialog/TextDialog.js:838"
The Tool options toolbar does appear and it can be interacted with. The Text tool does not appear at all (and text input in the Toolbar can not be placed either).
In ab3e02, the Text tool works as usual.
Hope I got it right this time – several clean builds have been made to double-check results.

Original topic: “ugly text strings in a draught, after Visio 2003 AutoCAD file conversion”
Hello!
I have a Visio2003 mnemonic, and I tried to convert it to AutoCad file format (interchange and other), but this conversion makes ugly any text string in a result draught, like this (look at the attached QCAD.png):
... and so on.
I tried to open result draught in a DraftSight - it works with strings fine, there are no ugly string on the screen. If I try to open CAD files created by DraftSight in QCAD 3.4.6 - I have an ugly text strings too.
A process of manual corrections of this ugly text strings in QCAD is very very laborious, I think, you need to make a some new instruments to automatic conversion strins like this “\fArial|b0|i1|;сборный...” to strting “сборный...” by checking some postions in your new instruments and clicking “Apply” button.
Thanks.

If text is selected together with an entity or entities, and then scaled, the position of the text relative to the entity is not maintained. The text size does scale correctly.
This means that the (scaled) text has to be moved to the same relative position as before scaling. This does not happen with a couple of other 2D programs I have checked.

Task Description
Hello,
I am stage manager and I have been using QCAD PRO nearly every day for 2 years now. But since yesterday it seems that text is not saved within the file : when I reopen a saved file, text doesn’t show up. Do I miss a setting ? I currently run Mac OS X Mavericks but there haven’t been any issues with this OS for months.
I deleted the app and prefs and tried out with 3.6.0 (which I don’t use because it often quits brutally), and also the free version of 3.6.4 But the issue still the same.
As I use this app for my work, it is very annoying not to be able to use text ! Thanks for your help

Thus, one obtains not the required appearence of the characters in the drawing. This occurs when i use QCAD3 in Windows Vista or in openSuse 12.2 on a 64 bit laptop. If instead i use QCAD3 in openSuse 12.2 on a 32 bit laptop, then characters are displayed in the required appearance. (However, on this laptop i have the reported difficulty in selecting fonts). If i change back from the drawing to the text editor, then also the texteditor displays the text together with explicit control characters, and not in the original required form.
