Task Description
Happened somewhere between ab3e02 (works) and 67516a (doesn’t work).
In 67516a (current HEAD), when I attempt to launch the Text tool, the following is printed on stderr:
Warning: Script Exception:
"ReferenceError: Can't find variable: RTextBasedData"
Warning: "<anonymous>()@/tmp/qcad/scripts/Draw/Text/TextDialog/TextDialog.js:838"
The Tool options toolbar does appear and it can be interacted with. The Text tool does not appear at all (and text input in the Toolbar can not be placed either).
In ab3e02, the Text tool works as usual.
Hope I got it right this time – several clean builds have been made to double-check results.

Task Description
Text with subscripts (e.g. “S\S^3;”) is display incorrectly with the latest version on both Mac OS X and windows 64-bit.
The subscript (”3”) is displayed before the normal text (”S”).
I have been using subscripts to indicate electrical switch types on my blue prints.
It appears that superscripts are also being displayed incorrectly.

Task Description
Hello,
I am stage manager and I have been using QCAD PRO nearly every day for 2 years now. But since yesterday it seems that text is not saved within the file : when I reopen a saved file, text doesn’t show up. Do I miss a setting ? I currently run Mac OS X Mavericks but there haven’t been any issues with this OS for months.
I deleted the app and prefs and tried out with 3.6.0 (which I don’t use because it often quits brutally), and also the free version of 3.6.4 But the issue still the same.
As I use this app for my work, it is very annoying not to be able to use text ! Thanks for your help

Task Description
When exporting a drawing to SVG, polygons containing arcs (trimmed circles in this case) are converted to straight lines. If the polygon is exploded first, then it exports correctly. Of course, this isn’t useful if closed polygons are required for the program using the SVG file. Solid hatch fills export correctly. See attached DXF and corresponding SVG export.

Task Description
There is one important ACAD feature that I would really like to see supported in QCAD3 and that is “Layouts”
Looking at the block lists, it seems to me that it can’t be too much extra work to support it, since the model space and different paper spaces are already shown there - and one can edit it.
QCAD draws infinitely easier than ACAD and drawing layouts is a primary feature of ACAD. With this in QCAD I can hardly see why anyone that does 2D work would need ACAD at all.

Task Description
I was drawing on a drawing done in qcad2 - and now working on it in qcad3 - where I had saved it in the new dxf 2010 format (if this has any relevance) and then the computer ran out of power (old battery - I missed that I hadn’t turned on external power) - and shut down hard.
When I rebooted and tried to start qcad - it crashed on startup - giving only this output: Debug: TIMER: 42 ms - “loading plugins” Debug: TIMER: 459 ms - “initializing plugins” ./qcad/qcad: line 38: 2955 Segmentation fault (core dumped) LD_LIBRARY_PATH=”$DIR” “$binary” $OPT1 $OPT2 “$@”
I then tried removing the entire qcad-3.0.0-prof-linux-alt-x86 folder - and unpackaging the install tar.gz again.
It then started up and came to initializing plugins - 79% - and just hung - I’ve attached screenshot.
After I ctrl+c’ed it - it segfaulted and now it won’t even show the startup splash again.
I’m guessing qcad has saved some state somewhere.. but qcad hasn’t made a ~klavs/.qcad - so I don’t know where it is.
I would very much like to be able to use qcad again :(

QCAD has unexpectedly quit.
Please use the offscreen platform plugin for headless systems (without a running X11 server): ./qcad -platform offscreen
In addition, you might have to override the default Qt style to prevent the loading of a native desktop style (such as GTK): ./qcad -style plastique
I have tested this in version 3.22.1 too and get the same result. Reverting all the way back to 3.13.1 results in an operable version of qcad when working on the same file and library blocks.

Task Description
I just use QCAD3 for the first time. I work with OpenSuse 12.2. After having unpacked the downloaded package, I am able to start QCAD3 with the QCAD command icon. Check shows that i used the most actual version. Obviously no further installation steps are necessary. I am able to draw some lines, etc. However, when trying to select a font, I recognized that the computer hangs at least for 5 minutes. The CPU load is about 50%, and i am not able to move the mouse and to do anything else. During this time, sometimes there is access to disk, sometimes not. So, in order lo cancel the hanging, i must make a hard system reboot. Before i have entered the font selection, i have tried to look into the help options. However, It was not possible to get the FAQs and the QCAD forum, so i am not aware about similar documented problems. I have looked after similar bugs, using the words ‘text, font’. No similar bugs found.

The two attachments contain the source drawing (blackburne_engine_breather_0210A.dxf) and five screen shots (qcad3_rc3_stretch.odt) showing the steps taken to replicate the problem.
I have also performed a similar exercise with a Linux trial version 3.0 RC2 (OpenSuse 11.4) with the same result.

Drawing file shown.
This could be a bug in 2.2.2, but it would be nice to ensure 3 can pull in old drawings without us having to rework them all.

QCAD/CAM version 3.16.7.1 (snapshot release)
QCAD/CAM version 3.16.7.1 for Ubuntu Linux starts up with a totally black screen with only the title bar showing. By clicking around at the top of the screen I can get the menus to drop down and appear over the blank black screen. That is how I captured all the version information below. QCAD/CAM version: 3.15.5.0 for Ubuntu Linux starts with all the normal screen graphics appearing normally. I labeled this bug report as critical because QCAD/CAM is unusable on Ubuntu Linux, but for me it is not so critical since I can use the Windows version.

Task Description
QCAD Professional 3.23.0 is using en_US keyboard layout although I have a Finnish keyboard on Fedora 29. I have not found a way, how to chance the keyboard definition. In Fedora repositories there is QCAD Community Edition 3.22.1, and keyboard definitions there are working OK. Keyboard layout is following Gnu desktop keyboard selection and can be changed on the fly. Wrong keyboard layout makes working very hard, because almost all special keys are in different places, like colon, semicolon, plus, minus, parentheses, slash etc.

739 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Medium | QCAD fails to open a DXF file generated by itself | Closed
|
Task Description
QCAD does not manage to load an DXF file created by itself (presumably, I don’t remember excactly, could be the last 2.x version). When selecting File ⇒ Open on the file in attachment, QCAD shows a pop-up reporting the following error :
Cannot open file »‘/home/gillonr/Documents/Projects/Familly/Br.../Chambre Parents/Plans/Plan-PaterNoster.dxf’. » Please check your access rights, the file format and file extension.
The file permissions are OK, there is no issue of disk space on the volume where the file reside or where the QCAD distribution is installed or at any other critical location. The problem does not happen on other files created with QCAD, so it appears to be data dependent.
The file causing trouble in QCAD can be imported in LibreOffice 3.4.2 w/o reporting errors (but that application does not provide the suitable methods / tools to edit this format...).
(1) Is there a way to activate debugging when reading in data from a DXF ? (2) Is there some tool (ev. 3rd party) allowing to check that the data is clean ? (3) Can someone identify the cause of the problem (presumably some data construct or maybe corruption) ? (4) In case it would turn out that the problem is a QCAD bug, is there a work-around (I need these drawings...).

Task Description
Since today, QCAD fails to load my drawings, with the following error message in the console:
Warning: RBlockReferenceData::getBoundingBox: maximum recursion depth reached: block: “Drukknop”
The block in question is the AREI (Belgian standard for symbols in electrical installations) symbol for a “button” light switch. It’s a small and simple drawing (see attachment).
I’ve added a lot of these buttons in the drawing since the previous version, but there were some already present, and this never caused problems.

Task Description
This continues a problem that occurred in Qcad 2.2/OpenSuse 11.1:
1. The default paper size is always A4. (minor, but annoying)
2. Here is the serious problem: When I change the paper size to, for example tabloid, in File/Drawing Preferences/Page and in Print/Properties, the print job prints as though it were A4. This occurs unless I first go to Yast or Control Center and (as superuser) change the default page size. Other programs (such as Open Office) don’t require this.
The printer is an HP deskjet 9800, and the problem occurs with either CUPS or hplip printing.
I am using Opensuse 11.3 (I haven’t been able to install successfully opensuse 11.4 on my computer), Qcad Version: 3.0 Beta 2 Date: Sep 17 2011 Qt Version: 4.7.3 Edition: Full Version

199 | QCAD (main) | Bug Report | Medium | Print preview scaling distorts model view | Closed
|
Task Description
- Draw a rectangle, say 100 x 100 (I use mm unit, but does it matter?) 1 - Turn on print preview - Turn off print preview - OK 2 - Turn on print preview - Set scale 1/10 - Lines are thicker now, this is good - Turn off print previw - Lines stay thick in model view, should that be so? 3 - Set layer 0 to use dash as line-style - Turn on print preview - Looks OK - Set scale 1/10 - Dashes hardly visible, looks almost like a continuous line
In the end of 2,3 a way to reset line width display in model view is to cancel scaling in print preview, ie. turn on print preview, set scale 1:1. I suppose this is a regression since TP1: model view always is unscaled.
The line-width scaling is quite accurate now: Draw two lines 10 mm apart. Set line-width 0.5mm. Set scale 1:20 and the lines exactly touch.
