QCAD 3 RC2

Please note: The current release candidate of QCAD 3 is thought to be stable enough for productive use. The purpose of this release candidate is to obtain feedback from a wider range of users. If you have concerns about the stability of this software release, please consider the older version of QCAD (2.2) for now.
Users are advised to safeguard important data, to use caution and not to rely in any way on the correct functioning or performance of the software and/or accompanying materials.

Supported Platforms

The QCAD 3 RC2 has been tested and is known to work under the following platforms:

  • Windows XP, Vista, 7, 32bit / 64bit
  • Mac OS X 10.7.1 (Lion), Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.6.7 (Snow Leopard), Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5.8, (Leopard), Intel
  • openSUSE Linux 11.4, 32bit
  • openSUSE Linux 11.4, 64bit *
  • Ubuntu Linux 11.04, 32bit
  • Ubuntu Linux 11.04, 64bit **
  • Fedora Linux 14, 32bit

* Some additional 32bit libraries may have to be installed in order to run the QCAD 3 32bit binary under a 64bit platform. openSUSE 11.4 64bit requires a package called "Mesa-32bit" to be installed.

** Package "ia32-libs" must be installed.
QCAD is automatically started with the 'plastique' style (-style plastique).

Download and Update

If you have purchased QCAD 2 during 2010 or 2011, you can download the QCAD 3 RC2 package for your platform from your download area.
Your download area is accessible through our online store as follows:

  • Visit our Online Store at https://www.ribbonsoft.com/store
  • Click on "My Account".
  • Login with your e-mail address and password you have chosen when purchasing QCAD (or click on the link "Forgot your password?" if you don't remember your password).
  • Click on the "View" button beside the appropriate order.
  • Click on the "Download" button beside the appropriate product (QCAD).
  • Your download area is shown with the QCAD 3 RC2 packages listed at the bottom of the page.
  • All packages you download from your download area are fully functional and don't require any registration, key or activation.

If you have purchased QCAD 2 in 2009 or before, you might have already received an update coupon by e-mail. If not, please contact us to receive a 14 Euro discount coupon which you can use to purchase an update to QCAD 3.
