I'm using ubuntu 8.04 and had a similar problem - the printer not showing up in the dropdown list, only a PDF option. The problem was QCad looking in the /etc folder for printcap. The solution was to link /var/run/cups/printcap to /etc/printcap. I'm not familiar with solaris so this may or may not b...

When I started my library I had it in the library folder in the installation folder - in your case /opt/qcad/qcad-2.2.2.0-1-prof.linux.x86/library. What I did was to move this library folder to the .qcad folder that QCad creates. This is where I keep my library now because of the problem you are now...

I had the same problem. I'm using ubuntu 8.04 with either gnome or kde. I'm not familiar with gentoo. What I found is that Qcad creates the .qcad folder in my home directory and places the library there. I developed my library in the default location from when I installed Qcad. I found that by movin...

Crash after enabling ruler and grid lines in preference
Ubuntu 8.04 QCAD Professional 2.1 (I think but can't open anymore to get version) I enabled rulers and grid lines and QCad froze. When I restart Qcad opens up as usual but the FILE and EDIT menu option are on the right side of the menu bar and nothing works. Ubuntu says "QCad - [unnamed document 1]"...

I see this post is old but I found it while looking for away to get rid of snapping to grid in Auto snap and thought it might help someone else. I edited Application Preferences (under the Edit menu) and disabled "Automatically scale grid". The Auto snap still finds all the other snap points but thi...

This seems to correct the duplicate problem for this setup: Operating System: Ubuntu 8.04 QCad Version: 2.2.1.0 Apparently, QCad creates a folder .qcad/library that reflects the contents of folder ~.QCad/library. (note: I renamed my installation directory to QCad). Everything seems to work as expect...

Thanks for the quick response Andrew. Your suggestion works. I played around a little more and discovered that there is a default reference point in the entity - it is the center of the entity. I was trying to copy a rectangle and didn't think about the reference point being in the center.. QCad app...

I just purchased the professional version and ran into problems copying entities. I understand about the change in the copy procedure and the addition of copy with reference point but I think theres a bug in the the copy function (or quite possibly I'm confused). Here's what I'm doing and am having ...

Thanks for the quick response. I will try out the demo. I can see and use the blocks in the parts library that came with the install but I haven't had any luck with my own blocks. I changed ownership of /usr/share/qcad/libraries so that I could save my DXF files there but they don't show up in the L...

Considering purchasing QCad Professional
Hi, I am thinking about purchasing QCad for smaller projects. I have played around with the community edition 2.0.5.0 on Ubuntu 8.04 and I think it is quite useable but I would like to know if the professional version will help me with a few of the problems I found in the community edition. 1.) Does...
