Viewing QCad files online

This is not strictly an internal QCad question but, I want to share some of my drawings with clients, without having to have them install QCad or anything else for that matter. Does anyone know of a web site add on that would allow them to view a cad drawing directly on our web site (ideally being a...

Converting Blocks to Library Items

I have (without sufficient forethought) created a huge library of parts for kitchen design. They are all blocks in various drawings. Is there a quick way to bulk-convert them into library items?

Thanks,

Michael

pdf has grown with only small changes to the drawing

I changed a drawing slightly last night and the pdf export suddenly grew from 2.5 MB to 10MB - a problem for sending by e-mail.

Is there something obvious that I have missed?

Original drawing is available if you need to see it.

Thanks,

Michael

I am reasonably new to QCad and really like its simplicity and the way it works generally. I am still getting used to the keyboard commands but do find that setting the snap locations and movement constraints can be a bit problematic. Have you considered an additional toolbar with the snap and movem...

Position of labels on dimensions

Hi - Is there a way to position the dimension labels so that they do not overwrite the dimension line? There does not appear to be any kind of offset.

Thanks,

Michael

Thanks.

The stretch tool does not quite do what I needed to but it does cover most eventualities. The problem I would have had was that there only some of the elements in the selection box needed moving, others were fine.

Actually, if you were to implement a 'change line direction' feature it would be great if you could select a number of lines that have one or both ends on a horizontal or vertical line, show a common (y or x respectively) start point. I needed to do this when I made a small mistake in a drawing and ...

Being new to QCad I think that I was having a blind, stupid  moment...

I was trying to change the line type by using the line type selection boxes in the tool bar. By going to the Modify/Attributes dialog I managed to change the lines without any problem.

Thanks everybody for all of your help.

Actually I think I may have found the problem, although I am not sure how to get around it... If I printpreview the drawing at 1:1 then it all looks fine. If however, I scale it up the line thicknesses change with the scaling - this does not appear to be happening with my other diagrams. Am I missin...

The file was created in QCad. My platform is Fedora 7 64-bit (all in my sig). What is odd is that I have 1 file that worked fine and 2 others that didn't and in which I don't appear to be able to change the line thicknesses...

Unable to change line thicknesses - Solved

I have a number of drawings which all have lines set to thickness "by layer" However, it does not appear to make any difference to the thickness of printouts - they all come out thick. I do have one drawing that appears to be fine (different thickness and styles without a problem). Am I missing some...
