Re: Claude

Some industries have standardized around the .dwg format. Conversion and import/export are not practical when drawings are frequently exchanged. I work in the commercial construction industry, which is by no means small or insignificant. It is dominated by AutoCAD use and every "alternative" to Auto...

New Version

I realize that it takes time to write stable software, but I was just wondering if you are getting close to rolling out QCAD 3. It's been quite a while, so I hope that you're getting close. If you can put out a Mac native AutoCAD LT-equivalent (roughly) with native .dwg capabilities, you'll have a h...

Re:Andrew

I didn't intend to impugn your software's capabilities, you're right of course that production is a very relative term.

This is all great news, but when will we get the new app?!!!

Yes, I know that it takes time to program and test software, I'm just being impatient.

Thanks for all the hard work.

QCAD New Version

Any chance that you're going to release QCAD 3 with native .dwg file compatibility (not import/export), xref support/editing, paper/model space integration, and mature plotting options? The small business that I work for is looking at our CAD options and we want to purchase for 10 workstations/lapto...

Printing and File Options

I know that you've said that the new QCAD is coming soon. Hopefully very soon! I hope that you have taken a look at how ACAD handles printing. I'm not suggesting that you infringe on any copyrights, but having a "paper space" that you can easily add title blocks to is very useful for real-world prod...

No thank you.

Actually, I prefer the way it is now. It is very easy to use once you are used to it, and many ACAD users are already because its the same in both apps. Maybe if it were a user preference, then you could customize it without compromising it for those who like it.

Thanks.

I second these requests

Sheets are actually a little more complex than just multiple drawings. A sheet is a paper space that can be scaled and printed separately from the drawing. ACAD can have multiple sheets, each with different views, scales, paper sizes & title blocks, but all using the same original drawing. To do so ...

DXF issues

I cannot get AutoCAD 2007 to work properly with QCad DXF files. I have saved in both the standard and R12 formats. I can see the R12 version in EDrawings, but not in ACAD. I like QCad as a stand-alone, simple tool, but it is not feasible to use it in production right now with this and other issues (...
