Parallel line tool please?

Andrew, can we have a proper parallel line tool? I hate having to go over lines all the time to make them parallel, with the existing tool. It would speed things up if there were an option so this could just be done in one shot as well? This would be a really useful tool for architectural visualisin...

I thought you should know about this, if you haven't already; In the next release of Google SketchUp, our free modeler, we've decided to remove the dwg/dxf importers. We know how important these importers are to our professional customers, especially those who depend on CAD products in their daily w...

Hi Andrew.

Yes- I have been doing that but I'm the forgetful type- and often whip out QCad before opening up a template :oops:

Can templates be opened automatically?

Landscape drawing default (not portrait!)

Andrew,

Is there any way of getting QCad to default to landscape instead of portrait? I don't think I've ever used portrait- yet this is the default. Could QCad not default to landscape instead?

Scale dimensions

Guys, How do I scale a drawing without altering the dimensions? (It's totally awesome that this works how it does anyway!) For example if a dimension measures 150mm before scaling and 200mm after scaling, how can I keep the re-scaled drawing to stay at 150mm? It's probably really simple, and in fact...

I should point out that the Autosnap feature seems to dominate, and in order to return to the original choice, I have to deselect the restrict tool, then re-select again. It dramatically slows down workflow.

Bug while drawing and snapping; snapping won't remain on

Andrew, there's a bug in the snap tool, where after drawing a line and then repeating the action with the tool still 'open', snapping stops working. I haven't tried the other snapping tools, but it is the orthographical restrict tools that I am noticing the bug.

using latest QCad build.

Hi yes I too am having a similar problem in Mac OS X Leopard. I don't have a problem with printing from and to A4, however printing an A3 (or any other size) results in a small section of the drawing only been shown (scaling up don't work). Andrew, if this a QT problem, don't stand for it. You (we) ...

We would have to write a significant amount of Mac only code to achieve that which unfortunately is not a priority right now. Oh come on Andrew! So it is okay for us Mac users to have to put up with a significant amount of Windows-only code instead? I don't think that creating a simple save box is ...

PS, as for the 'open' dialogue box, files that cannot be opened are greyed out leaving those which can be opened highlighted. Like this; http://www.bilder-upload.eu/show.php?file=LcnG9nlPHVsERzA.png (screenshot taken from Solidworks' eDrawings. Image shows SLDPRT and DXF files highlighted only. Wher...

Re: Saving on a Macintosh is all wrong. Please fix it!

The Mac save dialog falls short in one point: it does not allow the user to choose a file type. Same goes for the file open dialog. err?, Yes it does!!; http://www.bilder-upload.eu/show.php?file=gaEiKQTjydHO1TB.png and; http://www.bilder-upload.eu/show.php?file=IVDxj1BzgVV1kxi.png (screenshots take...
