Re: QCAD quits when trying to insert library item

Thanks. That's exactly what I was doing: creating a block and then using the same name for the file. Once I tried skipping the extra block creation step everything worked fine.

QCAD quits when trying to insert library item

QCAD quits when inserting some library items. I created my own library items. When I tried to use them, the program would quit as soon as I tried to drag and drop the item into the drawing window. I have the same problem with the "default/misc/window" and "default/misc/5 title" library items. Other ...

Re: Add a Font to Drop Down List?

Found the font in the list, right at the end of the CAD fonts. Not sure how I missed it, thanks for setting me straight.

Add a Font to Drop Down List?

I have a .cxf font that I have used in the past with qcad 2.2.2.0 . I copied the .cxf file to the qcad fonts directory. When I open files that have text using the custom font, the characters show up as I expect them to. However, when I try to write new text, my custom font isn't available on the dro...

Partial Success

I am able to insert unicode into text using your instructions, but I am unable to do so in dimensions. example file: http://www.flycarlair.com/pages/qcad/Fraction.dxf and the standard.cxf that has my glyph for 7/8 in [215e]: http://www.flycarlair.com/pages/qcad/standa...

Unicode Character in Dimension

Is there a way to insert a unicode character in a dimension? I would like to insert stacked fractions as font characters.

Blank Custom Page

I was having a similar problem when using QCAD 2.2.2.0. I was attempting to plot patterns on 36x30 inch sheets of paper. Printing to PDF Creator, plotting to an HP plotter, and using the PDF Export function all yielded blank plots. The interesting thing is that I was able to use QCAD 2.0.5.0 communi...

Never say never

I just noticed today that I have no problems using AutoCAD 2002 to open dxf files created using the community edition of QCAD. Just goes to show you that never is a very long time.

11 x 17 is Tabloid

Try tabloid for your paper size.

dxf and Autocad

I have never been able to open a QCAD dxf file with AutoCAD. AutoCAD always gives a message similar to "Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded". I've had mixed results opening QCAD dxf files with other cad programs that read the dxf format. I have had some success using EveryDWG (http:...

Dimension Styles

Yes, some sort of dimension style function would be very nice. For now maybe a useful strategy would be to keep the larger font size while the design is still in flux, even if it doesn't look that great. When the time comes to settle on a final design then go through and resize things where appropri...

Explode

This isn't an elegant solution to your problem, but it will work: Explode the dimension that you would like to have a non-typical size, then change the text properties.

Formatting Text File Output

I am trying to write decimal values to a text file formatted so that there is a specific number of precision after the decimal point. I seem to be overlooking something very basic about how argDec() and Strings work and I am stuck. Here is what I have tried so far: function main() { var pi=Math.PI; ...
