How do I scale along one line

Post by Mesigua » Wed Nov 10, 2010 6:49 pm

The scale tool scales one object with one point as reference.
I.e. If you have a box (20x20) and you scale it with a factor of 2 you will have a 40x40 box.

I want to keep untouched one dimension line, or to scale along one line:

I.e. If you have a box (20x20) to scale it only the "y" dimension with a factor of 2, so it should create a 40x20 box.

Is this possible?

If you have only one factor in the scale dialog, non-uniform scaling was introduced after the latest QCAD Community Edition release.

For some situations, Modify - Stretch might work.

This is one situation where stretch doesn't work. It's a complex object.

I have the 2.0.5.0 community edition, as far as I know this is the last one, but I have one only input text box in the scale dialog.

What version do you have?

QCAD Pro (2.2) offers non-uniform scaling, at least for some simple entity types. You might want to try this with the demo:

Note that this won't change your arc entities into ellipse arcs.
