Hi , i 'm french so excuse my little english.
I update qcad with the new version and i have some suggestions about it , first the dimension (radius or diameter for circle) to have the possibility of putting the dimension text inside or outside of the circle just to improve the visibility when there is some entity in this circle.
The second suggestion is about the snap tool , the autosnap is good but sometimes it will be better to choose 2 or 3 or more snap possibility in the same time to avoid some snap point that's would be genant to snap at the entity correctly .

Otherwise qcad stay a very good software , simple and very effective , I do not regret having purchase it .

Thanks for listen me

You can move the dimension label of all dimensions:
- select dimension
- drag and drop little blue handle that is shown in the middle of the text label

Thanks for the suggestion. Note that there is a new auto snap feature in QCad 2.1.2.8 which snaps to the most common reference points.

I know the drag and drop but i saw more the diameter or radius dimensions in the same thing that leaders, one arrows , line and dimensions outside of the circle with automatic symbol for diameter or radius.

For the autosnap in the last released that's better perhaps sometimes , for example when you want to snap at the end of point, intersections and to grid in the same time in layer where many circle are present the snap tool is more difficult to use because it jump from snap center of circle to the other of snap point .
So deselect some snap possibility and keep 2 or 3 at the moment will be more comfortable like another soft i used before qcad (autosketch).

That's not a very important thing just to improve the work with qcad.

I am reasonably new to QCad and really like its simplicity and the way it works generally. I am still getting used to the keyboard commands but do find that setting the snap locations and movement constraints can be a bit problematic.

Have you considered an additional toolbar with the snap and movement constraints? Particularly when moving or resizing objects it would be handy to be able to quickly select snap options and see which ones are selected. I am not entirely convinced that auto snap is what I am looking for as it becomes rather unpredictable when several potential snap points are closely grouped.

Thanks,

Michael

Snap mode

I enjoy your program. I would prefer the snap mode to be more in the vein of how DeltaCad does it, i.e. snapping occurs only when the cursor is close enough to a "snappable" point (the "close enough" distance is a parameter set by the user). I find it less functional to have to switch the snap mode on or off constantly, since when the snap mode is on, only "snappable" points can be selected.
