Make a sub layer it's own layer in it's own right!
When creating a sublayer and assigning a parent layer for it - I think afterwards there should be the option to make the sublayer a layer in it's own right, without any parent layer if required.

1. Click the sub layer
2. Edit the layer
3. For the parent layer, choose the empty entry in the combo box

Thanks Andrew, I can understand the logic now that you've explained it, however I think it would be useful to have an 'Edit Layer' option in the layer drop down list instead of clicking a blank field. I must admit at the time I didn't think of doing this and newcomers may miss this altogether.

Not sure I follow. Are you suggesting that the empty entry in the combo box should contain the text "Edit Layer"? Why?Clive wrote:I think it would be useful to have an 'Edit Layer' option in the layer drop down list instead of clicking a blank field.
