I am working on a project in QCAD and I need to document measurements of every entity I draw both in metric (millimeters) and Imperial (inches), I cannot find any easy way of doing this and so I am suggesting that a new feature may be considered for development for QCAD in which both the metric and imperial measurements could be fed back in an easy way , maybe a new tool added to the 'Info' tool set!
For example if I draw a line of 3.27mm what is that in inches, using an online converter tells me it's 0.146inches - but how could I have got this information quickly from QCAD?
Using an online converter continuously would be very tiresome!
...Or maybe this would be an exciting candidate for the 'QCAD 3 ' script Add-On & Plug-in challenge ' forum, any enthusiast developers/coders out there ?

For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...
Re: Metric/Imperial converter idea
Hello Clive,
First of all ....
3.27 mm = 0.12874 inch
Second of all ...
Select the whole drawing - copy it into the clipboard - paste it back in the drawing with a scale of 1/25.4? Select the dim of the inch copy - use the Property Editor to change the label into <> inch or <> "
30 seconds work = everything is converted from Metric to imperial!
First of all ....
... you should use an other online converter.Clive wrote:For example if I draw a line of 3.27mm what is that in inches, using an online converter tells me it's 0.146inches

I think my original thread title was misleading, so I've changed it!Husky wrote: Second of all ...How about:Clive wrote: ...but how could I have got this information quickly from QCAD?.

I want to draw in metric and to be able to get feedback about line lengths etc. both in metric and imperial at the same time - not convert my entire drawing to imperial.
