How to clean double lines in a drawing ...

Post by Husky » Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:07 pm

Hi,

if I use a move and copy command to get a desired pattern - most of the time the result will have many stacked lines.

If I like to use this file for a CNC machine I need to clean this drawing.

The tool "Detect duplicates" works nice for identical duplicates but how can I find and delete shorter lines which are located in the same place as the longer lines?

This selection shoes 6 lines - it should be just two long lines! I only need the longer lines ...

Hi Husky

Try this:
1.Use the selection filter tool and set up the fields correctly - set the tool to find all lines 35mm long. Then choose 'Replace the current selection.

2.Using the property editor, move the selection to a new 'temporary' layer.

3.Now delete the selection or delete the layer.

4. Now use the 'detect duplicates' tool again and clean up the file, it should now detect all duplicate 70mm long lines, which you can delete - leaving the file clean for your job  .
For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...
