Adjusting Grid Snap Resolution

Post by careysub » Fri Aug 29, 2014 8:41 pm

I have selected the Snap->Grid menu item; and set the Drawing Preferences->Grid->Grid Spacing values to 1 (also tried 0.1, 0.01. etc.) yet the mouse only snaps to the grid in units of 10 (40, 130; 40, 140; 50, 150, etc.) as I move the mouse.

I cannot find any setting that makes it snap to the grid resolution I need.

What to do?

Hi,

to reproduce this:
what is the Drawing Unit for this drawing?
what are the settings for the meta grid?
have you activated the grid snap (Menu/Snap/Grid)?

Could you attach an example of this dxf drawing?
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

In the Drawing Preferences options (for the current drawing or use 'Application Preference for setting options for all 'new' drawings) set the spacing for both grid and meta grid to 'Auto'.
For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...

I have set grid and meta grid to auto, I have selected Snap->Grid, and the mouse/cursor still only snaps to 10 grid intervals.

I am using a freshly installed, freshly downloaded copy of the Linux pro 64 bit version.

In the Drawing preference dialog try setting the drawing unit to millimetres and try again.
