Cannot open QCAD in linux mint 16

Post by bfairey » Sun Sep 28, 2014 2:32 am

Nothing too technical, please.
I've downloaded QCAD but I cannot open it. Terminal went thru its contortions ie lots of dots and rows of data?
It even gave me a logo on the desktop, but wont open.
Brian.
ps Librecad is too basic and Blender too complicated but both opened with no problem.

Hi bfairey and welcome to the forum.

Did you set permissions to run QCAD?

Try 'right - clicking' the desktop icon and select 'properties', then in the dialog that opens go to the permissions options and set Execute -'Allow executing file as program'.
For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...

One of the most common problems under Linux is that the wrong package is installed. 32 bit on a 64 bit Linux or vice versa. Note also that launching QCAD on a terminal will more likely give you some kind of error to work with.
