[solved] User interface font size

Post by fzampa » Wed Jul 05, 2023 12:19 pm

I have a similar issue where only some texts in popup windows are not the correct size.
It used to work perfect until last week. I don't recall having changed anything.
I'm on windows 64. I was on rev 3.27 and just updated to 3.28 and it shows the same issue. resetting qcad.ini didn't change anything.

I've spilt this into a new topic as it seems unrelated to the topic this was posted in.

Do you have a second screen attached to your computer?
Also, please post your Windows display settings and your QCAD user interface settings (Edit > Application Preferences > General > User Interface), thanks.

@andrew, thanks for creating a new topic.
yes, I do use a second screen. in one office in extend mode and in another office in mirror mode.
I tried plugging and unplugging the 2nd monitor and restarting Qcad but there was no change.
changing scale factor in Qcad interface setting was worse since it was changing all the other correct size texts, menu bars etc and it was impossible to work.
I did restart the pc and that fixed the issue. plugging and unplugging the 2nd monitor again didn't affect. I also tried rebooting the pc with / without the 2nd monitor attached and couldn't repeat the issue.
for the records, below you can see Qcad interface settings screenshot taken after re/booting the pc and everything is back to normal

Thanks for sharing your problem and solution. I hope this means it is fixed for you now. This is extremely helpful for other users who experience this issue. Unfortunately, we are aware that Qt, the toolkit QCAD is based upon has some issues with dual screen setups.

Hi @andrew, I am experiencing the same issues as @fzampa did, however restarting the laptop doesn't help here.

I am running a laptop with a screen resolution of 2880 x 1800 and two external monitor with res 1920 x 1080. I am getting the issues on the external monitors both with laptop display open and closed.

There is no issue when the laptop is open and QCAD is displayed on the laptop (main) monitor. However when pulling the window over to the external monitors/displays, the issue reappears (differently this time, the large fonts are now on the rulers on the drawing window sides. If I now open the user interface settings (Applikationseinstellungen/Benutzeroberfläche) and "apply" (anwenden), the fonts are showing all correct. The line spacing of the pull-down menues are still larger than they should be.

After restart of the computer or opening QCAD anew, the initial problem reappears.

Is there any walkaround that you know of?

Thx, Martin
