Incorrect Printing from Print Preview

Post by RayArdia » Sat Apr 04, 2015 1:20 pm

Using Ver 3.9.1 Pro on Ubuntu 14.04 4GB RAM plus 2x 2TB Expansion Drives. HP Deskjet 1050A All-in-One printer.
Using Print Preview, when I correctly position the page (A4 Portrait) over the Drawing to be printed and select the scale (1:20), although the drawing is shown inside the white page the printer prints the drawing offset to the right, so that only part of it ends up on the printed page.
No doubt I'm doing something wrong, but I can't think what that is! Help please?

Thanks for the file. I'm unable to reproduce that problem here. I also created a PDF (uses the same logic as for printing) and it comes out just fine (see attached PDF).
Perhaps you can try to print this PDF and check if that comes out right?

Another possible problem could be the use of lineweight 0.00mm. This prints lines 'as thin as possible' which might be invisible on your printer. In any case, try increasing the lineweight of layer '0' and check if that makes a difference.

Thanks for help Andrew. The pdf dwg prints OK but even after increasing the line weight the same 'offset right printing happens when I print from the Print Preview screen.

Thanks for the details. There appears to be a problem with the printer driver or communication between our framework (Qt) and your printer or printer driver. Unfortunately, this is a problem that seems to be unique to your particular setup and is unlikely to be fixable on our end, so printing to PDF seems to be the easiest workaround.

Thanks Andrew, will check driver and printer installation, Otherwise will copy into Libre CAD, which prints out fine (though is otherwise very limited compared to QCAD!)
