Change the form of a line ending?

When I make thick lines, they are rounded at their endings. Is there a possibility to make lines look rectangular?

No, the line endings cannot be changed. You might want to create a filled rectangle or filled polyline to imitate a thick line with rectangular endings.

That is rather cumbersome and it would be difficult to change the line width later. Is this something that DXF format doesn't support?
