"blow up" a section of a drawing for printing

Post by SkyWatch » Sun Feb 15, 2009 8:20 pm

Given a building drawing with several rooms, how can I "blow up" one room so that I can PRINT JUST that one room WITHOUT having to copy its entire structure to another window/drawing, or go through a tedious procedure of selecting that room's elements and hiding everything else in the drawing?

If I zoom in to that one room, the print preview still shows the entire drawing.

You will have to adjust the scale factor in the print preview until the part you want to print fits on the paper. See also QCAD manual -> printing.

Hmm - OK. Good answer, though the Manual does not make it intuitively obvious that using the PAPER icon as a SELECTION FILTER is how to control what will get printed, and thereby allow you to "zoom in" to a particular part of the diagram.

I tried what you suggested and it works. Thanks.
