QCAD Open/Save dialog crash

Post by Lis » Wed Nov 25, 2009 6:49 pm

Hi everyone.
Versions:
QCAD Pro 2.2.2.0 Demo
Window 7

If I try to open a file or save a file QCAD crashes completely.
First the open dialog pops up, but the dialog is overall white.
Then QCAD crashes.

How to fix this?

Thanks, Louis

PS: I just made my professional payment :D

We will send you the download link for the intermediate release QCAD 2.2.2.1 which should fix this problem as soon as we have received your payment.

Hi, I have the same problem. I purchased a copy of QCad 2.2.2.0 Pro, worked fine for awhile. Then when I opened the program, click on File then Open, it crashes. Can you email me the link for the update please.

Hi Andrew,

Version 10.5.8 with QCAD 2.2.2.0. The demo seemed to work fine, but I bought the software immediately, so I can't say that for a fact. It seems like I was able to 'save as' a couple times, then on an attempt to open a saved file, it locked and has since been unable to save as or open. I've been launching and renaming files through the finder. I did search the forum and attempted to 'reset' the software. I have also removed the demo and the first install folder, re-downloaded, un-tarred it into the app folder, etc... QCAD looks like a very promising fit for me. I'm looking forward to getting it running.

Did you find and delete the configuration file?

If not, that would be the next thing to do. The file is present in either /Users/your_name/.config/RibbonSoft/QCAD.ini or /Users/your_name/Library/Preferences/QCAD.plist

Note that tools that search files on your hard drive such as Max OS X Spot Light will likely NOT find the file, even if it is there. If so, you will have to look for it manually. The best way to do that is in the Terminal application if you are comfortable with that. For example:

cd /Users/your_name/.config/RibbonSoft
rm QCAD.ini

I did. I had the .ini file. It asked me for default unit of measure and language on startup, but crashed the same. Does where I store my drawings have any effect?

It could have. Do you use network drives or other kind of external drives?

No, drawings are on local hard drive in QCAD folder.
