Special character problems

Post by klavs » Tue Nov 30, 2010 5:43 pm

I've been using qcad for a little while and am very happy with it.

I just purchased the prof. edition to support ribbonsoft (v2.2.2.0) and have found that I still have problems with text with special characters.

I'm running qcad on Ubuntu 10.10, 32-bit..

v2.0.5.0

- won't write danish characters (æøå) on the drawing - they look fine in the text window.

v2.2.2.0 solves (1) - but
- Won't show certain special chars f.ex. superscript 1 and 2 (I guess it is those - 3,4,5,6.. is just below and look fine).

- Won't show correctly display special chars (such as "(4)", Degrees symbol etc.) - even though they look fine in the popup text window. They are displayed as ?

Any ideas as to what I could try?

The fonts of QCAD don't contain all glyphs. You can extend a font if required by loading it with QCAD. See also:
