Printing does not work

Postby klavs » Mon Dec 06, 2010 11:09 am

When I select print from qcad (v2.2.2.0) it opens a new "window" with the print preview - and it's just grey and shows me the print dialogue. If I just select print - the printer works for a long time - and then just prints a few lines (looking like some hatch lines exploded up in size) and nothing else :(

I can export and print using gimp. My problem is, I need to print in scale like: 1:100 or 1:200.. I don't know how to get gimp to do that :(

- Always switch to print preview before printing: File - Print Preview
- Adjust drawing scale and position in print preview
- Once print preview shows desired result, print via File - Print

Thanks - that helped - but if I enter scale 100:1 it still shows nothing.

If I then choose "fit to page" - it shows fine - but the scale is set to 0,0148827 which I can't make heads or tails off.

The unit is set to its standard (mm) and the page type is set to a4 210x297mm.

The house is 11220mm wide - so for that to fit on a piece of A4 - a scale of 1:70 or smaller (I tried 1:100) should fit fine.

I tried changing the scale field to one of the presets (1:100) afterwards, and then print - qcad died with a segmentation fault (it's the drawing I've given a link to in another thread I'm trying to print).

What am I missing here?

Would it be possible to update the DXF file / or send it to info at ribbonsoft dot com for testing?

Thanks for the file. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the problem here.

Here's how I proceed:

- Load the file
- File - Print Preview
- Click "Fit to page" button in tool bar
- Choose scale "1:100"
- File - Print
or
- File - PDF Export

Is there anything you are doing differently?

I tried to do exactly as Andrew instructed:

- Load the file
- File - Print Preview
- Click "Fit to page" button in tool bar
- Choose scale "1:100"
- File - Print
or
File - PDF Export

And it works now :)

I cannot reproduce the segfault anymore.. :(
