QCAD crashes on opening and saving files

Why does QCAD continually crash when opening and saving files. What can be done to eliminate this problem. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on a PC
You are most likely using QCAD 2.2.2.0 which is from before Windows Vista and known not to work on some Vista installations.
Please update to the latest version from your download area:

Please check carefully that you do indeed download QCAD 2.2.2.1. The older versions are also still present in the download area since scripting support is not available in QCAD 2.2.2.1.
