qCAD 2.1.6.4 / Ubunu 7.1 - Locks up on start

Post by tj » Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:07 pm

I purchased pro, and initially downloaded 2.1.3.2 After experiencing problems with pdf crashing upon creation, it was suggested I use 2.1.6.4.

When I start qCAD, the opening screen comes up and the customary log messages appear:

QCad ready.
Creating new file . . .

Then, instead of the usual log messages, nothing happens. Locked up. Only recourse is to force a quit.

Any ideas/suggestions??

Thanks!

Hi tj

Are you able to provide a crash log? As this would help Michael and Andrew debug the problem. :D

QCad has been tested under Ubuntu 7.10, so it should work just fine. One wild guess: maybe your configuration file is messed up. Please remove the file ~/.config/RibbonSoft/QCad.ini and then start QCad again.

Andrew, I presume that the ini file is the same as a preference file?

I trashed the existing preference file, but that had little difference.

I'll throw away the existing build and download/ reinstall it again.

Thank you for the quick response.

That was the problem. Works fine now.

Yes, I should add that trashing the preferences (plist) file fixed my problems too!

(Still wanting and waiting for a fix for backspace delete though!! )
