File Open dialog crashes

Post by Uchida » Fri Feb 13, 2009 4:06 pm

Hello,

I've been using QCAD (not very frequent user, only occasionally).
I just upgraded to 2.2.2, because 2.2.0 didn't allow me to change the printing
line thickness. 2.2.2 can do that and I'm happy about it.

However, I found everytime when file dialog opened, QCAD crashes on my Mac.
My Mac 10.5.6, 1.83Ghz/2GB RAM.
Both crashes when open file dialog for "Open file" and "Save as..".
Some time it opens file dialog anyway but doesn't display any list of files and then not responding for ages. (then force quit)

I can open recent files directly under File menu. Double clicking dxf file from Finder opens the file OK.
So File open dialog seems only the problem.

Any advice?

Solved

I found how to reset the QCAD from the other thread.
http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad_doc_faq.html#7

I tried it and that fixed my problem. Now I can do "open file.." and "save as..".

For all those who want to set a language different from English I would suggest the following:
1) Delete the QCAD.ini according to the above FAQ;
2) Restart QCAD " as is " that is without choosing any language (it defaults to English);
3) Leave QCAD and edit the QCAD.ini file with a plain text editor modifying the line "language=en" into your your own language, e.g., "language=it"

That's all!
