including images in a dxf-file

How can I include images (bmp) in a DXF-file for sendig the file per Mail to another user? Second best: how do I define the path to the images, which I can separte?

Images cannot be stored inside a DXF file.

QCAD looks for the image that is referenced at its absolute position first and then in the same directory where the DXF file is.

As long as the receiver of your drawing puts all images together with the DXF file into the same directory, the images should show up in the drawing.
