DXF Doc

Hello,
I have a question not directly concerning QCad but I hope there could be someone with the right piece of information.
I'm writing a program that imports DXF files (started 12 years ago) and now I'm trying to add support for gradient hatches. The problem is (as usually with DXF) - documentation. The only info I've found is in the official "DXF Reference" which is very concise and there is nothing about how to draw the gradient according to the specified data.
I would appreciate any hint ...
