Hey guys!

When have you planned to release version 3 of Qcad? I have just read in 2009, but not an exact date/month/quarter.
Is there a list of all new features somewhere?

cheers

QCAD 3 is well under way. However, it will be released sometime in 2010. We are unable to give you an exact release date at this point.

Looking forward to it, and wonder what new features there will be?

Is there are any chance to see QCad 3 Community Edition in this year? Or at least release QCad 2.1/2.2 under GPL right after release of QCad 3?

Kagami: We haven't decided about the future of the QCAD Community Edition yet.

These are my views, and I am nothing to do with Ribbonsoft.

QCAD is not really expensive and does not really have much to debug.... a 1 month demo version would be a better idea than community.... I am sure if you were a serious developer and had contributed great amounts previously you could apply pressure.

To me, it is clearly the void between dwg and dxf that is currently the issue and bringing DXF lib upto 2007. Maybe thats worth community input?!

The legal action against OpenDWG has basically locked opendwg at year 2000 and >dwg2007 to dxf2000 conversions are getting worse and worse. Big headache to me, so much so have been know to use AD product to print to HPGL and then use hpgl-dxf convertor, but breaks blocks etc.

Makes you laugh how there are countless Win products that can access latest dwg... yet Linux got nailed.

Please be assured I am a great supporter of open source and all things Linux, but it has its place (like open source dwg access libs) and so does commercial (products like qcad).

The OpenDesign libraries have read support for DWG 2.5 through 2010 and write support for DWG 12 through 2010. QCAD 3 will support the same range of formats.

Hi Andrew,

Can you give us an update on the release of Qcad 3.0? I've a project that is going to require some scripting and I'm reluctant to start with v2.2 if you are about to change the scripting engine. It would help me a lot to have an idea of your time scale.

Thanks for a great product :D

Hello everyone, and sorry my english translated ..

If I say something I'd like to have in QCAD3:

During the insertion blocks library rotate them before inserting them. I think it would be very convenient and fast. Type of rotating 90 ° with a button keyboard.
Hello thanks and good job

Hello, and sorry my English translated.
This is what I like to have QCad 3

It would be nice to associate a text to a share or line in order to prepare easy card production. Ensure that if the object is stretched or vice versa, also change the text of the measure. I hope I explained myself, thank you for your work
