In all support requests, please indicate what version of QCAD and what platform (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X) you are using.

Please understand that you will very likely have to sit down for a while and learn how to use QCAD (or any other CAD software).

If you are new to QCAD and CAD in general, I can recommend this book / e-book which was written for absolute beginners with no technical background:

The installer should indeed create a working shortcut on your desktop.

qcad says:

Version: 3.4.7.0 (3.4.7)
Build Date: Apr 10 2014
Qt Version: 4.8.4
Compiler: gcc 4.4.3

operaing system Linux Mint 13 Maya

i'll know something about cad programs been used

autocad 12 ,14 , Lt97 , lt2002
inventor 2013
solidworks, mastercam, surfcam

milling /turning -macine controll systems:
Fanuc siemens mazak nummi(small finish manufacturer for old rebuild machines) Heidenhain...

But this is my second program that not worked at all, first was some on anroid operating system even whit pen is useless... piece of crap.
Now I'll try find one workking cad on linux that we can use on real work. windows operating systems are come quite expensive to us, so if there is way to use linux we will try..

We know that windows based cads are easiest, fastest and productive work whit, but they are become fragile whit microsoft operating system.
