step by step process for importing a bitmap (ex. *.png file)

Post by akridge » Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:05 pm

Trying this again since the previous message didn't get answered.

I've done some searching and it appears I should be able to import a file of type PNG but I've been unsuccessful with getting it into QCAD. Need help with a step-by-step process for doing this.

Using QCAD version is 2.2.2.0 Professional, OS is Mac OSX version 10.5.8

Thank you,
Scott

I found out how to insert a gif or digital image.

Open QCAD and go to DRAW->INSERT IMAGE then choose the image from the file selection window.

What exactly is the problem with PNGs? Can you not choose a PNG file in the file dialog? Can you insert it but it does not show? Does it show but not correctly? Please be as specific as possible, thanks.

I got it to work correctly, just posted the steps so others could use. I only tried GIF but I'm sure PNG would work fine also.
