inches to millimeters

Post by treeman » Wed May 12, 2010 10:45 am

I have a drawing in inches it is 74" wide by 25" high.
print preview on A0 landscape paper is almost twice as wide as a sheet
OK
change to millimeters and the print preview on A0 landscape paper is a little thing down in the bottom left corner 74 mm by 25 mm
NOT OK
I want the drawing to maintain the real size
otherwise how do I accurately scale the whole drawing inches to millimeters

Changing the drawing unit does not convert your drawing measures. A line that was 1 Inch long is after switching to Millimeters 1 Millimeter long.

This is intended since QCAD does not know if you want to actually convert your drawing from one unit to another or if you are merely setting up the drawing unit correctly for the first time.

To convert the drawing from Inch to Millimeter, you have to change the drawing unit and scale your drawing appropriately (factor 25.4 in this case).
