Allow Images

Post by mikeperik » Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:49 am

It would be nice to be able to upload images. You could limit the size so that you could see the problem the user is having.

I know this post is old but I still think its valid.
I too think that if we could post images of our problems etc. this would be really useful.

Would this be possible please?

I used in an old thread http://www.bilder-upload.eu to provide images to my questions.

Ok - maybe not perfect but it works

Here the old thread:

Andrew I`ve just had a look at the phpBB site and it is in its "3rd" major release now and as far as I can tell you can configure what uploads you permt including images, attachments etc!

If you go to phpBB site >about>Features>Attachments the in attachment types it quotes -

Attachment Types
"Control what type of files and which extensions are permitted to be uploaded to the board".
I`m sure this will allow at least PDF attacments and images?

And also under the "Postin" section it states -

Attachments
phpBB provides the ability to post multiple attachments to posts. The types and size of files allowed to be posted is fully configurable within the ACP.

hope this helps

Hi Andrew
I`ve also seen this "Flash" tutorial on the phpBB site showing that you can elect to allow BMP images and you can set your file size also to not clogg up your server too much!

Andrew
Thankyou very much for this, I understand the need to keep things under good quality control for this forum and I respect the way that you do this!

I think QCAD users will use this facility well to upload problems etc. with images and will be a great asset !

I must say Andrew all credit to you and the QCAD team for this wonderful program and forum. :D

Thanks again and regards

You're welcome :)

I finally got round to it as our server had to be updated anyway.

Thanks for all your valuable contributions to this forum!
