3.03 hanging with some tools

Hello,
I am trying 3.03 on the side and I noticed that the program hangs up with the parallel tools: the new line does not show unless you exit the tool, it also does not show the auto snap indicator, so you are not sure that the line is placed correctly.
Has anyone noticed that behavior?

Nope - no problems under XP 32

Could it be that something is wrong with the color settings?
Exit -> Application Preferences -> Graphics view -> Colors ...

I cannot reproduce this particular problem and have been using 3.0.3 for some production jobs with no problems - however I have noticed that sometimes 3.0.3 does indeed ' hang' sometimes on some commands - but only occasionally!

@Andrew, I am wondering if 3.0.3 is conflicting in some way with version 3 stable? as it certainly is sharing the same roaming data. I have no problems with running them 'side by side' but for instance if I change the user layout in version 3 it certainly also reflects the same change in version 3.0.3 development version.

I can reproduce the 'hang' which really means that the graphics view is not being updated as it should. I've filed a bug report at:

I assume that the auto snap indicator not being displayed is the same issue (no graphics view updates in a certain state of the application).

Yes, the autosnap is the logical following step of the tool.

I've uploaded development snapshop QCAD 3.0.5 which should fix this problem. This is a Windows only release as this problem only occurs under Windows systems.

Please let me know if the problem persists.

For me in Windows 7 -64 and Vista, the parallel tool and the sequential auto-snap function is now working properly in 3.0.05. However the grid is now 'hanging' a little until you click on it to bring to full extents!

The Isometric tool bar is now remaining docked after closing/re-opening.

In Windows 7-64/Vista
When needing to define the next snap position when using any drafting tool in 3.0.5 the info feedback is flickering or there is none at all, this occurs when using any snap command (including auto snap).

I presume this must be further graphics view updating problems.
Problem seems to be when using all drafting tools except single line segments?

Thanks clive. This was not totally unexpected. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to these issues as they stem from an underlying library (Qt 4. which seems to be broken on Windows.
