FS#2566 - The fonts on the settings pages are too small

The text for the settings is too small, and requires me to hold my computer very close to my face to read. It wasn’t this way a few months ago. I don’t know what changed. Maybe it’s when I got my new computer, but I don’t think so. As you can see from the screenshot, the tree pane for selecting which page of settings isn’t affected by this problem, nor is the title of the dialog. The same problem affects both the Drawing Preferences and the Application Preferences. It also affects the Property Editor and the Layer Editor, the Command entry window and the Command output window. It may affect other components, but I haven’t tried to make an exhaustive inventory.

This might be related to the Qt version and your Windows system preferences. We weren't able to reproduce this here so far.

Could you try the Qt 6 based package available in the "Snapshots" folder of your download page and let us know if that fixes the problem?

This does fix the problem. Thanks. But it does have an unfortunate side effect that I find disconcerting, though I am able to work around it. If I have two documents open and I close one of them, then the remaining document fails to fill the pane space. In order to view the document normally I need to make sure it has been saved, then close it and reopen it, and then it will display correctly. I tried installing this version on both my machines and found this behavior on both of them. On the one where I didn't have the issue this version is trying to address I uninstalled it because of this annoying side behavior.

Thanks again for your attention to this issue.

Geoffrey,
I read your reply just now after your second bug report.

Something doesn't sounds right:
"If I have two documents open and I close one of them, then the remaining document fails to fill the pane space."

In the same GUI multiple documents are not side by side, only the 'Title' blocks are.
Only for showing two drawings side by side one could open 2 sessions ... 2 Apps.
Both windows share nothing, not even the clipboard panel.

Maximizing one or the other App its window is then related to your OS.

Or do you mean that using a Qt6 based installation it doesn't swap the content correctly in your drawing panel when closing one of the files?
What happens then if you swap the focus to a third file and back, a new file for example.
The view should be regenerated correctly.

Regards,
CVH
