FS#1197 - Small Polyline offset with 'round join' makes line segments, not arcs

When making an offset of a polyline with ‘round join’ enabled, and making a small offset of 0.0015 inches, no arcs are made, only coarsely interpolated line segments.
Further tests show that this is true until the offset is increased 0.040 inches; then the offset begins to create arcs.

The creation of arcs in a polyline offset with such small distances did work in QCAD 2.x.

This should be fixed in QCAD >= 3.15.5

I can confirm this. The new algorithm uses a polygon library which does not support arcs in general. We use this library because of other benefits vs. the old algorithm.
QCAD tries to reconstruct the arcs after the algorithm completed its work. This does not always succeed, especially for small arcs.

If you wish, you can install the old tool into the misc menu as follows:
Extract the attached file into your QCAD Installation directory.
The old polyline offset tool can then be found under Misc > Draw > Polyline Offset (Alternative)
