FS#1842 - svg export shows texts in different place
Hi,
when I export a dxf draw to svg the text objects shows in a bit different place.
QCAD version is 3.21.3.14
Can you please indicate which of the texts is affected, how much the offset is and attach your SVG output file? Thanks.
I think all the texts. Attached the files. I used to insert the svg into an odt file (then export as pdf → I noticed a small offset in a A4 paper size, but it is definitely there).
Uploaded the dxf again, I am not sure it is the same as the first one.
Regards,
Soma
tetoter.svg (86 KiB)
tetoter.dxf (251.4 KiB)
Unfortunately, such small offsets are to be expected. These stem from the different method used to position text in DXF vs. SVG.
If you need an identical representation as in the QCAD graphics view, please disable the preference "preserve geometry". Texts are then exported as paths and the position should be identical as shown in QCAD.
Thanks, but if I disable "preserve geometry" then I am facing this issue again: linetype not exported.
The dashed lines are ca. 14m long with a dash pattern of a few Millimeters, this is too dense to show on screen or to export. Change the global linetype scale to e.g. 100:
Edit > Drawing Preferences > General > Linetype > Global Linetype Scale
Thanks for the info, it is working now.

Soma
