FS#1967 - Development snapshot: Toolpath generator problem

Hallo Andrew,

I had updated QCAD/CAM to 3.23.0.2 and I am confronted with a major bug in the toolpath generator.

Note that 3.23.0.2 is a snapshot release, not intended for production use.

Bugs in snapshot releases are never considered to be critical as this is a snapshot release for users interested in testing the latest cutting edge features.

Well that is one way to say ”Thank you for testing, but you should not use the application you bought.”

Does me wonder; what is the use of testing anyway, if any found error is wiped of the table as of no importance at all?

It's not wiped off the table. I just wanted to make sure you know what you are doing by using a snapshot release. Some users accidentally download snapshots without reading the information about snapshots.

Bugs in snapshot are never critical as they are expected and production users are not using snapshots. I hope that clarifies that.

FYI: A "critical" bug is a severe problem preventing a wide range of users from using the product, such as a crash on start up or when using an essential tool.

It seems to me a malfunctional toolpath generator is critical,
and being an essential tool to CAMmers, it should not be added to a new update.

By your initial reply it looks like it is no interest to you at all.

From the reporter's perspective, every reported bug is critical to them, otherwise they wouldn't report it. We have to make a more objective judgement. If it only affects one user, perhaps even one single project, that might still be critical to you, but it isn't to the wider QCAD/CAM community.

If you don't agree, I'm happy to offer you a full refund.

Nice, thank you for your refund offer.

I suggest using the offered refund as my payment for time necessary to fix the toolpath generator. The QCAD/CAM community, specialy those using CAM in offset mode, would certainly appreciate my contribution in the development of cutting edge features like a functional radius compensation mode (like it did before).
